The reason I am talking about dishonesty is because she told me that she had already sent the tax book away for the change of plate & today she has sent me the v5c/2 which she had obviously had the whole time0
-
So? The V5C is an irrelevance. She would have sent the first page away, and that's the important one.
The V5C/2 with the old vanity plate on is of no use to you. What she should have done was binned it when she sent the main page off.0 -
What do you need the MOT 'certificate' for?
It's not a certificate it's simply a piece of paper - the real MOT is on the data base at DVLA.
If and when the registration plate is changed they don't issue an updated MOT bit of paper any more.
Sounds like you need to go back to the seller and instruct her how to do the paperwork properly.
I can't tax the vehicle online as v5c/2 only has 11 digits & to tax it at post office I need an not cert0 -
This is ridiculous - why did she choose to send the V5C away?
That could take up to 3 weeks for a postal response from DVLA.
Doing it on-line takes 3 minutes.
Anyhow we are where we are - or rather where you and she are.
Instead of throwing accusations you need to speak to this lady and get things straight.0 -
So it's from an old-style V5C/2 anyway, not the most recently issued one? If that's the case, then you couldn't have taxed it online even if the plate had remained on the car.I can't tax the vehicle online as v5c/2 only has 11 digits
As I explained in post 5, that V5C/2 is useless to you anyway. You need to wait until you have the doc ref from the most recent V5C/2, the one with the plate that's actually on the car.0 -
But the 1 that I have is for the plate which is actually on the car - the cherished plate0

I have been in contact with her twice a week for last 5 weeks & she just keeps saying the delay is with Swansea. I'm going to call Swansea myself tomorrow0
