Staying signed on to MSE using Firefox

Whenever I close FF I also get logged out of the MSE forums despite ticket the "remember me" box. How do I stop this happening?

Go to tools > options > privacy
is accept cookies from sites turned on?
if you're not accepting cookies, it won't remember you. or if you have selected to clear cookies everytime you close firefox.0
