Over credit limit after Barclays removing charge fee

Hi all,
I've had two issues with my barclaycard this week, I'll elaborate.
On the 26th April I checked my banking app and I noticed that I had somehow gone over my limit by 16 pence. I immediately rang up and made a payment which brought the balance below the limit and the gentleman over the phone cleared a £12 charge. The week later I checked my balance and it was £11-13 below the limit and available, and as my colleague was going to get lunch, I gave him my CC to use the contactless to purchase my lunch also, totaling £3.34 whilst I continued to work.
Yesterday I was shocked to discover that my Cc was over the limit by roughly £3 again , after speaking to another member of staff they waivered another charge and I paid £50 off to ensure that I wasn't near my limit again.
After pondering on it overnight, I thought that this couldn't be right as on the day it said I had £11-13 available and I'd only spent £3.34!
What I found out today was that the charges that where cleared, weren't cleared and that they had added a credit to the account for the cost of the charge and the charge actually came off when the months statement was produced yesterday!
If they would have told me this over the phone, which they most definitely don't did not, I would have made sure that there way over £12 available on the statement date.
Where do I stand in this? Not being told that the charge would come off on the statement day? The payment I made was a similar amount and I just thought that that was why the available balance had reduced.

The charges were waived so you're not out of pocket, and have learnt not to sail too close to the limit. It sounds like you stand in quite a good place!0

Won't my credit be affected now though as my statement was £3 over, and agreed I will not in future it was just the only contactless card I had to give and was paying it off in full before the interest free period was over.0

It may not even feature on your credit report, and even if it does, a one off is unlikely to have any long term affect. If you are routinely maxing out your credit, that is more likely to be your issue.
You might lose you interest free period though - if you haven't already you need to check they haven't terminated it.0 -
How many contactless payments did you do - some do not get to pending or authorised stage?
I agree you are far too close to your limit to be spending at all on the card.0 -
Ahh hopefully not, they re-applied the interest free
currently I have 9 defaults that are in a DMP but they were all 2 years ago and should be off my file in 4 years, I don't want to wait another 6 before applying for a mortgage because of this!

Just the one payment on the 4th May, the statement was then generated on the 6th and it was already on.
I really wanted to know where I stood about beNg told the charge had been waived and not that they were putting a credit on that would be taken. I want to know if I could take that up with Barclays. They must outsource there call centers abroad also as they were quite hard to deal with/understand properly0 -

You've got to be kidding. You've had charges refunded twice and you still want more. What do you want them to do?! Compensation for your trouble?0 -

Even if it does make it to your file, if this is your only slip up and (by then) is 4 years old it's unlikely to cause you any issues.I really wanted to know where I stood about beNg told the charge had been waived and not that they were putting a credit on that would be taken. They've already waived the second charge, what more are you hoping to get out of this? Keep in mind that they didn't have to waive the first one and could have cancelled your interest free. They seem to have been very fair and accomodating .0 -

No no t kidding, I'd like my credit file not to have this on it as I wasn't told that the charge would come out and that it had been waived. If I'd have known this, there would have been suitable funds in to cover the charge fee0 -

You were over your credit limit before the charge was applied (it's what caused you to be charged in the first place) so even if they didn't waive the charge in the way you expected, placing a marker on your file for being over your limit would be a true reflection of the account conduct anyway.0
