Then the wording has changed since you applied.
The actual question now is: 'Do you have a serious health condition for which you are receiving regular medical treatment?' If you answer 'yes' the next question is 'Do you have a kidney condition that requires dialysis', if you answer 'no' it then asks 'are you traveling for medical reasons or treatment' if you answer 'no' to that is asks you if you have a history of illness, hospitalisation, injury or surgery in the last 6 months' if you answer 'yes' to that you have to give details.
If you answer 'no' to 'Do you have a serious health condition for which you are receiving regular medical treatment?' it doesn't ask any further health related questions.
I can't link to it because it's an active form, but if you do a dummy application you will see that that is the question now.
So yes, it does have to be serious to be declared. I guess they got fed up with people answering 'yes' for any little medical conditions.Accept your past without regret, handle your present with confidence and face your future without fear0 -
I took the question from here http://www.cic.gc.ca/english/pdf/eta/english.pdf not the form itself - Having just done a dummy run on the form, it now bears no relation to the PDF and doesn't even ask about health.0

You have to give answers to your name, address, passport No., nationality before the health questions come up.Accept your past without regret, handle your present with confidence and face your future without fear0 -

But then it still asks whether you've had a serious illness, not just long term illness as you stated.Accept your past without regret, handle your present with confidence and face your future without fear0 -

Bit random since how would you prove it was your thread ? But quite possible in this life of bizarreness.
Anyhow if that's legit, good luck, I've seen on another thread your dilemma of disentitlement to various types of support, so let's hope this is the thread that makes it work for you.

The question states
"Do you have a serious health condition for which you are receiving regular medical treatment?"
and refers to
"Select yes if you are receiving regular, ongoing medical treatment for any mental or physical condition.
Please provide as many details as possible. Failure to include additional and sufficient details may result in slower processing."
So make of that as you wish. To me the question actually wants to know "if you are receiving regular, ongoing medical treatment for any mental or physical condition." not "Do you have a serious health condition for which you are receiving regular medical treatment?"0 -

Ok, I'll make it simple for you:
On the online application the first health question is: Do you have a serious health condition for which you are receiving regular medical treatment?' If you answer 'no' to that question no further health questions are asked.
Once you have answered 'no' that is the end of the health questions, nothing else, no mention of anything else. How on earth do you interpret that to mean "are you are receiving regular, ongoing medical treatment for any mental or physical condition" ? Those words just aren't there and I think it is very unfair of you to try to cause alarm by implying that the actual online form is more complicated than it is.Accept your past without regret, handle your present with confidence and face your future without fear0 -

You see the ? to the right of the question "Do you..." , click that.peachyprice wrote: »How on earth do you interpret that to mean "are you are receiving regular, ongoing medical treatment for any mental or physical condition" ? Its not my interpretation, its what ETA actually states, the words are there. see attached
If you actually wanted me to imply the form is more complicated than it is then under the question
"Have you ever committed, been arrested for, been charged with or convicted of any criminal offence in any country/territory?"
If you have ever dropped litter in the UK, that is committing a criminal offence under section 87 of the Environmental Protection Act 1990. You would have to state yes to that question, even if you were never charged or received a fixed penalty notice. Its the fact you committed the offence that causes the 'yes'.
But I won't even go there. (IMO the questions are badly worded)0
