I took my 2 and 6yr old grandsons to Dudley for the weekend.

It was ideal, we stayed in the Premier Inn £29 per night. I took a baby video/listening device bought from Tesco's. The 2yr old went to bed at 7pm and me and the 6yr old were able to sit in the restaurant/bar watching him until he fell asleep, when it was the 6yr olds bed time I was able to watch the both of them until it was time for me to go up without disturbing any of them. It worked a treat.

Dudley was an excellent choice, within half a mile there was the Castle and zoo, The Black County Museum and the Canal Trips. right next to the hotel was a retail park with plenty of eateries and a cinema complex where we went to see Despicable Me. Overall it was a very busy weekend and we had no need to use the car for the whole weekend. I would highly recommend Dudley for anyone with young children.

We have just got home from pontins in north wales, it gets a lot of bad press but it isn't that bad.

We normally go twice a year and depending when you book can get it for £60.

You get the choice of mon-fri or fri-mon.

My lil girl loves it aswell, which is the main reason we go.

Caravan/holiday park sites are really good for stuff like this if you want a family focussed break.

There is so much for the kids to do, you'll actually get time as a couple while the kids are entertained within sight as well. Evening entertainment can be good and the kids will be shattered and probably sleep in ;)

There are some smaller hotels that have 2 bedroom family suite arrangements so you can stay up late and have some privacy, I have used one in Blackpool and one in Saundersfoot in S.Wales but there are no doubt many others, it can be difficult to find them as there isn't really a website listing this type of room, there should be!
