just been speaking to son. His friend has a box (£30), that connects to your phone line/internet, that delivers ALL channels incl. foreign, all films "incl. those not released yet", etc.

Sounds like a combination of magic box and putlocker ! but he can't remember the name !!

IS there such a box - I want one

I don't know the name, only thing I can think of are the android boxes. Probably not what you were after though.

My money's on an Android IPTV box.
Time has moved on (much quicker than it used to - or so it seems at my age) and my previous advice on residential telephony has been or is now gradually being overtaken by changes in the retail market. Hence, I have now deleted links to my previous 'pearls of wisdom'. I sincerely hope they helped save some of you money.

Android 4.4 Quad-Core WiFi 8GB XBMC KODI Smart TV Box Internet tvbox

seems to be this. Loads of videos online showing how to unbox/plug in, but I want to know if they DO work, or just buffer all the time. Are they any good. D you pick up 00's of stations. Would it replace sky. Do you get films, etc

Anybody got one ? Any recommendations ?

For me and Sport its constantly buffering from many repos .

You pick up no stations at all . You download a service say Freds repo and that gives you a number of TV stations ,Or Bills repo that may have a different choice .
Alternative is the paid for IPTV services .

For me BT Sport no i need to pay for an IPTV service likewise SkSport .Circa £15- 25 pm .

Pretty dubious legally, especially as some plugins act like a P2P client uploading as well as downloading unlicensed content

It could be a linux freesat box with a "gift" offer which is commonly sold on auction sites.

Pretty sure would get banned (maybe not) for discussing how it might work.

If it isn't in HD and is not on, like, a 10 minute delay (like most streams) then it may be this type of box.

Android boxes are much worse than they're made out to be. Also most of the content is blocked in the UK without 'paid for' subscriptions which is kinda defeating the point.
