Hi
When you return your Property Info Form and fixtures and fittings forms for selling your house to the solicitor , do they send them straight on on their own or do they create other paperwork to send with them?
I am just wondering if i should be chasing or not, i gave them to my solicitor 10 days ago and my buyer is telling me his solicitor hasnt seen them yet?
Both solicitors are in the same town
Cheers

Never, under any circumstances, take a sleeping pill and a laxative on the same night.

The Property Info and F&F forms comprise part of the contract pack, so it would seem reasonable to wait until all docs are ready before sending the whole lot over.
Have you given everything back to your sol, including a signed contract & TR1, etc? Just trying to think what else your sol might be waiting for.
On the other hand, I received a contract pack with everything BUT the PIF and had to chase to receive that.0 -
I only gave him the fixtures form and property form and cash for searches when i saw him, i dont mind chasing, though he is hard to talk to, but didnt want to if i am being unrealistic on timescalesNever, under any circumstances, take a sleeping pill and a laxative on the same night.0

hmmmm...just spoke to him and he says he is working on the purchase and sale contract packs today
I do hate it when your solicitor doesnt fill you with confidenceNever, under any circumstances, take a sleeping pill and a laxative on the same night.0 -
Could it be that he is waiting for you to sign the contract or TR1 (which he may not have given you yet) before acting further? I guess the only way to know is by chasing. Perhaps you could have your estate agent do a bit of chasing on your behalf, make him earn the "progression" part of his fee?
Another explanation is that the buyer's solicitor has received everything in good order but they're still in his in tray and he has not seen & processed them.0 -
I mentioned the TR form and he said he doesnt need me to sign that yet..
Sounds like he is gathering everything together on sale and purchase and then processing it all in one go...
I think i may drop the EA a sneaky email to give him a chase as wellNever, under any circumstances, take a sleeping pill and a laxative on the same night.0 -
Whenever I've bought and sold i've had to chase (everything).
Always worth chasing earlier than later because, of course, when you call them they were always 'just about to do it today'.0
