The details are on the EDF website: https://www.edfenergy.com/for-home/energy-tariffs/tariff-terms

I called them up and they said it is for switchers only and thats why it also doesnt appear as one that I can change to when I try to change tariff via My Account.

If I were to fill in the forms for the switch then the system would block it as I am already a customer.

Not at the time of posting but I have now filled in the form and submitted it so lets see what happens.
  • I managed to sign up to the EDF Fixed May 17 tariff about an hour ago but I have not received any email confirmation regarding this. Is this normal?

    Patience is a virtue. :)

Sadly for me, electricity will cost me almost 6% more and gas almost 18% more if I were to select this 'cheap energy' deal.

Who'd have thought energy was so expensive 5 years ago?

I cannot understand the 'herd thinking' that is making people believe that collective switches offer the cheapest energy deals on the market? Even this site is now (sensibly imho) caveating its recommendations:

Quote This new switchers' deal is, we think, the cheapest since 2011 (though it's a minefield; so we're not 100%). Unquote

FWiW, the 'herd' needs to start looking at separate suppliers which offer the best value for money.

    Hi Jadex

I'm afraid that by following this scenario the switch would be rejected. As part of the switch, EDF will be validating that the supply is not currently with it.
