I still think that this thread is the work of a fantasist though.Evolution, not revolution0

Not necessarily. In some countries and circumstances the need for the certainty of hard cash on the table, ready for the moment documents are signed and witnessed, is less of a fantasy than the instant online transfer and receipt verification.
If they're not a fantasist then they're not exactly clued up. Who would take delivery of (presumably many) tens of thousands of Euros in cash without first investigating whether they would be able to deposit them into a bank?
For starters they could have a few forgeries in there and that's not considering the chance of getting mugged or burgled at some point.0 -

Which is why I asked in post No 14 "which country" to determine if it was one where anything goes as per the above or one where cash transactions above a certain value are simply illegal in law.
I'm sure we will all be interested in the answer......assuming it is not as per @Ballard suggests all a total fantasy.0 -
Oh yes! MLP again.
With good reason.

Tourists and other legitimate customers will not be affected by the changes and the 500 euro note remains legal tender.0 -
Six year old 'news'..?
Euros continue to be legal tender in the Eurozone, including €500 notes.Evolution, not revolution0 -
Not many here really believe you sold your house for cash. No bank would either.
Perhaps Peter of England might.... you can contact him on facebook

I have a 500 euro note which I got from a Canadian friend in exchange for purchasing Euro 16 tickets, I'm struggling to find anywhere to exchange in the Bath area.
Any help with getting this change is much appreciated as I want to pay the balance on my CC which I bought the tickets on.0 -

You will struggle as I have previously stated on this thread no british bank will exchange them.
The note is shortly due to be withdrawn.
Any cheap flights from Bristol/Cardiff airport to a Euro zone country to exchange there? (Please do your homework first in case of a wasted journey)0 -
What's the lowest offer for them you'll take?0
