Oh wow, what a great idea! I should have done the exact thing that would have helped me avoid this mess before I needed to claim.
What amazes me is that you appear to find it strange that someone thinks that you should actually read up on the terms of a financial contract that directly affects you and your finances.
The information was all there but because you decided not to read it, you accuse the insurance company employees are liars and cheats.0 -

No, I did read it. Obviously I did, but not the bit about excess because I assumed it was per claim because (as you can see in the photo) it said £95, no pppc or any qualifiers.
I called them liars and cheats because they say you can take complaints to FOS in all the literature and on the final response complaint letter when in fact you can't. This lulls people into a false sense of security thinking if you have a problem it can be looked at by an impartial body.
My experiance with them was no, you are wrong. They basically said this 3 times, the final time being their final response when they said if I am not happy with this response I could take it to FOS.
I am not saying I wasn't stupid for not reading it all, I know that now. I am saying you shouldn't go around saying you are covered by something you aren't.
Imagine a foreign bank coming over here and saying they were covered by the FSCS in the uk.0 -

I have never claimed on travel insurance before and to me saying £95 excess means in total, not per person.
My main reason for saying they are a bunch or liars and cheats is them saying complaints can be taken to FOS when in fact they can't. And there is seemingly nothing FOS can do to stop it (according to them).
You wouldn't have had a complaint at all if you had read the documents - you would either have accepted the terms or cancelled.0
