Evening all! Hope everyone is keeping safe and dry in this weird weather. Hugs to those who need them, it's been a difficult few days from what I've seen. Hopefully it's calmed down a bit now. It's hard not to take the bait but then it's just giving satisfaction to the troublemakers...

Having seen lots of cruise talk on here (:o:p:D) I'm hoping for some pointers. Looking at a specific P&O cruise, like the look of a deluxe balcony or a suite as its a special treat for a celebration, but I have no idea how to get the best price and as many added extras as possible. I've only been on a 2-night cruise which was booked by my friend for her hen do, and hubby has never been on one at all. Should we go for the 'select' price with onboard spend or the 'saver' rate? I'm guessing booking direct online isn't the best way to go, regardless of the 4% cash back. I've no idea if the extra things like the shuttle buses are worth paying the higher price for the 'select', and I'd like wifi but can't see it as an option, so any help gratefully accepted! :o

Also, I'm crossing my fingers for lots of coupons between now and then, I'll need them to pay for this! :rotfl:

You cant choose dining options with saver rate, but I have always got what I wanted, you can always try to change it on board if you dont. Shuttle busses. It really depends on where you are going to, as a lot of ports you dont need them, and sometimes they have to provide it if it is a big port. I almost always go saver. Oh, and you cant choose your cabin, but if you are going suite, you could work out which one you will probably get by which one is left, and may even get an upgrade.

Think my brain has gone to mush.

It is on Shopit with one of those reducing bars so be careful.

Buy one. Scan item then receipt on Shopit. Scan same receipt on CoS. Refresh Shopit and it may load again. If it does, Claim on Shopit, claim on CoS. Max 2 on Shopit (or was for me), max 2 if you get the same flavour on CoS. Not sure how they got three as it only loaded x2 on Shopit for me.

If still live and available, you could also get one each of the Moma single pits as they are free.

If you get the bug it is all consuming - you are either depressed and puts cruise or elated and prior cruise apart from the 2 weeks in the middle when you are actually at sea :)

If you are doing a 2 night cruise then just get a saver price - you are not on it long enough to worry about the finer details like 1st or 2nd sitting

Sometimes the difference between a saver price and a select price is only maybe £100 for a weeks cruise so then you might as well pay the higher select price as you will get some on board credit or free port parking, choose your dining, port shuttles etc

Wi fi on ships is slow, unreliable and very expensive - our phones, tablets get locked in the safe as soon as we set off and we go off grid, we literally are off the planet, no news, no newspapers, no mobiles - but you can often find public free wi fi in most ports.

I don't think the agents give much of a discount now but its worth ringing to get an initial price eg cruise.co.uk are good, very knowledgeable. I get a few quotes but usually I book direct - 10% deposit and then 90 days before you pay the balance

Shuttles - depends on ports - if its a cruise with a lot of city ports eg a baltics cruise then there can be quite a few shuttles. Norway ones tend to be very small ports so no shuttles needed

Balconies - a mixed blessing but brilliant for Norway cruises. Mostly we just have outside cabins as we are very rarely in it except for sleep, showering and changing

There are some good facebook discussion groups - a new one just has cabin photos so this is great for helping to choose

Didn't realise the free porridge was also on Q clicksnappy - I got another set if ciders today and uploaded my receipts and didn't see them.
I've done my COS receipts and shopimum - COS has been approved already

Is there a limit to the number of shopimums accounts you can gave per device or per household?
