Holidays. It's in a field in Wales.0 -
I have self built houses and know how difficult this is. Forget any rose tinted views gained from watching Grand Designs or George Clarke.
It may sound gloomy but material quality and manufacturing quality is at an all time low. Labour skills continue to slide down - to an extent blame the lack of proper apprenticeships for this. After Sales and Technical Support from even reputable companies is woeful.
When all this is considered I wish Queenieviolet the best of luck - your project will not be easy, and the end result may not be what you envisioned.
The saving grace can be the extent of ones own skills plus what standard one expects of the completed job. Carefully plan your project and set a realistic end goal!0 -
Just a thought if you are going to take it on the road research the road allowance for height, width and weight of vehicles. Plus roads out of where you live. low bridges, sharp corners etc.0

Well, I'm hoping that hubby can do most of the work as he is a joiner and we have done other projects over the years, although generally house renovation. Spent yesterday sanding down the frame and have made a small bit of progress but certainly agree that at this rate I will be in for the long haul! I do need to plan - think I will make some decisions once I have got the frame prepared.1% challenge - £4018 - reduce by 100 payments of £41.0 -

Hi,
a good point but I am not planning on it being particularly mobile. However, I would like to think I could move it by road if I needed to and so this is something that I need to think about. Width shouldn't be a problem if I stick to the trailer width but height and weight I have no clue about at the moment.1% challenge - £4018 - reduce by 100 payments of £41.0 -
