Coach driver wanted to sue for libel

Have you checked to make sure the solicitor's who sent the letter actually exist, it's not that unusual in these type of circumstances for people to mock up legal letters0

Yes thats what im confused about exactly..Losses for what exactly
No disrespect for Coach drivers or anything else or what job they do or anything but its not as if this guy was some sort of Celebrity or anything like that so i cant figure out exactly what sort of compensation they are after for what exactly
My Twitter account has around 100 followers that its - most of them are Twitter bots, few friends and a bunch of family accounts
the Coach company account has less then 1000 followers and to be honest their twitter timeline is full of disgruntled customers anyway0 -
I would send it back to the senior partner at the Solicitors with a note.
Just to inform you someone is sending out stupid letters on your note headed paper, thought you should know.I do Contracts, all day every day.0 -
@Tigsteroonie

Hmm I dunno but then again even if he was then thats the line the company took against the driver and if its their policy to give them the sack then again whats that gotta do with him taking action
Way i see it i paid for a service...The driver acted like this..and company if they did deal with it internally then if he got sacked and thats their policy then thats fair enough
but if he did lose his job and now his trying to claim compensation for me complaining of what he did then thats a bit silly no?0 -
My opinion is that you have done nothing wrong if everything you have said/written is true.
You might want to ask his employer how the driver was able to obtain your contact details.
Looks like there may be a data protection breach here.
But probably best to be guided on that by your solicitor.
The only thing i can think of here was that Law company contacted the coach company to get my details from them...as i did email to complain about it0 -

His version of events may be different to yours and he may be alleging that your statements caused his employer to sack him erroneously.0 -
the bus driver refused his bus was empty was rude to us and fobbed us off and was agressive. So we took a picture of his number plate because we planned to complain about his behaviour
anyway no big deal because our actual bus was 45 mins later didnt really bother us.
I find this bit very interesting!
The fact that he "fobbed us off" suggests you gave a bit of backchat to him. Whether or not the ticket was valid/invalid, I'm fairly confident that they can refuse to let someone ride the bus. If he's told you (fobbed us off) that you can't ride and you keep asking them he's going to get a bit peeved off. So the "aggressive" behaviour is not only subjective (maybe exaggerated), but also understandable to an extent (Fair play if he was swearing or being physically aggressive, I'm on your side).
Instead of walking away and waiting 45 minutes which "didnt really bother us", you've gone and taken photos of the bus' number plate. Really? That's just like throwing yourself under the bus!
As for him taking a picture of you, that is kinda worrying in fairness. I would be very interested to know what ACTUALLY happened on the day before that took place and also whether the second coach driver allowed you to travel on their bus.
I genuinely think you've caused a lot of the problems BUT the bus driver has reacted badly. If your complaints are factual and not excessive then I simply cannot see how a libel case would be successful.
Sometimes in life the easy option is to just walk away. Now, because you didn't walk away when refused travel, you've created a storm.0 -
