What name and bank details did the fraudster give you? Post them here so if they try this scam with someone else using the same name and bank account and the would-be victim googles them, they will be directed here.

Happens more than you think.

You were greedy, bought a vehicle on price ( the price was probably so low those in the trade couldn't buy it for that ) and apart from the scam artist, you're also to blame.

Imagine if you'd gone out, paid TOO MUCH for the same vehicle from a dealer all you'd be out of pocket was the extra amount. (but you would have a car)

Because you were greedy, you've lost far more.

Buy cheap, Buy twice!

I've been doing some research here cos I really feel for the OP.

I think I've found a way to get your money back. Theres a good chance it will work.

I find really hard to believe that once you have transferred money to someone and you cannot retract it.

Surely you can go to your bank ask them to reverse the transaction.

I was on a similar thread the other day and which brings me back to my same question; so anyone can go around scam people and nothing will happen ?
I can set up a fake product and receive money in my "uk" bank and nobody can do nothing to me.
This cannot be right.

Amazed at all the really unhelpful scathing remarks on here!!! Crikey, Yes this person has made an error and clearly though the was going to receive a car!!! If you're brave enough to admit what you've done and request a bit of advice from a so called friendly forum then surely you should get just that!. Honestly some people. You lot may as well be the people who sold him the car/not car in the first place as they will also be laughing their heads off/rolling eyes. I need to log off as this is a joke!!

The money that was transferred will have been withdrawn by the receiver as soon as it hits their account. Even if it were possible for the bank to do so there will be no money available for a reverse transaction to happen.
