Taking on Turkish Airlines

My parents flights were cancelled in 2015 with no offer of an alternative flight, Hotel or refreshment. They had to rebook their flights themselves and pay for them.
They have not received a refund for the cancelled flight, a refund of their alternative flight, compensation for the cancellation or compensation for the Hotel they needed to stay in overnight.

Turkish Airlines are stating 'technical difficulties'.

I want to take them to court. I have been through the small Claims court in the UK but the flight was from Frankfurt to Istanbul. Can I still use the UK System or is there another one I should use.

Also, I want to represent my parents as they now live in Australia. Is this possible? Will they Need to appear or can I appear on their behalf?

Thank you for any help.
