Iv read the beginner guide/post to parking tickets in Scotland and was told do not contact the company (euro car parks) or do anything. iv had a letter in from them today addressed to my name saying they want payment within 28 days or its going to be a passed to a debt collection agency, iv had this before and they arrested my wages although this was with the council car parking attendant, iv heard that euro car parks are private land and the rules are different just scared i get debt collection agency hassling me and then eventually arressting my wages, can i get advice on this do i just leave it, will it affect me? if it goes to fdebt collector agency do i ignore them also or what?

Don't panic, you are in scotland ... lucky you
Euro car parks well know they have a BIG problem in scotland and it's an even BIGGER problem for their so called debt collectors.
You will indeed get debt collector letters threatening all sorts of rubbish but THEY ARE POWERLESS to do anything and they cannot take you to court, only Euro can do that if they are stupid enough to try.
With regards to the debt collector letters, just file them away as scammers and ignore. Only a court can order deduction from wages0 -
Sounds good, just when i saw they will put to debt collection i know ill get the usual threats just didnt want an arrest in wages like i did with the local council parking fines which i know are different.
Thanks0 -

Thanks
Just start collecting letters, different colours, making ridiculous threats etc etc.
In the end it is down to Euro to do something, doubt it will get that far, Euro know the boundaries in Scotland0 -

So what..?
Its as meaningless as the rest of the rubbish they send you. There is no comparison with legit/council debt collection.0 -
I agree - Euro Car Parks and their dopey debt collectors can be safely ignored in Scotland.
Totally different if you get a genuine demand from the council though.0 -
Get one of these than after collecting all the paperwork for five years you can heat your house for free.

The council has the power to hold the vehicle keeper liable, hence your previous problems. In Scotland, no such power exists for private companies operating on private land: they can only pursue the driver, and so long as you don't tell them they have no idea who that was. Hence the advice: ignore.0

What's with all this 'BlackBelt' stuff in your user name? :rotfl:Please note, we are not a legal advice forum. I personally don't get involved in critiquing court case Defences/Witness Statements, so unable to help on that front. Please don't ask. .

hey, just to let you know, My parents got a ticket from a private company when using my car back in March.
I have had 2 letters from them demanding payment however I have just ignored all correspondence.
Haven't heard anything in a while now. I think it was a 30 min overstay from a hour free period and they had just been held up and were late back to the car. Just followed advice from friends and online not to respond in Scotland.0
