Little Mistress Disgraceful

Can`t find a better home for this thread....and feel like I need a rant. Can`t even find a place to leave a review for this shambles of a company either, so good old MSE it is. Hopefully this prevents any other potential buyers some stress.

My wife bought £400 worth of dresses at the end of March for a wedding with the intention of returning the ones she didn`t want (as they do).
They took payment no problem and we returned some of the dresses, no e-mail confirming they had received the items, e-mailed them twice over the next few weeks with NO REPLY and not even a confirmation they received the e-mails. Even though they say they will deal with the inquiry within 72 hours.
Anyway, a full month and a bit later I have finally had an automatic e-mail from them saying our refund is being processed....but is still going to take another 10 days!
Seriously pathetic company to deal with, we ordered other dresses the same time as these and refunds from the other 2 sites were paid within 1 week of returning the goods.
Quality of goods was poor and customer service was awful. Will never use them again, and urge others not to either.
If you prefer hassle free shopping without the stress of chasing refunds then AVOID Little Mistress.

Good it serves your wife right for ordering stuff she knew she didn't want with the intention of sending it back for a refund!. People like her increase the cost of clothing online because companies have to buget for sending out clothes and getting a percentage back because people think it's okay to do this!.

That's a bit unfair. Perhaps ordering 10 dresses with the intention of only keeping 1 is a bit excessive, but if it's 3 or 4 I don't think there's anything wrong.
There's much more available online than in stores (especially if you're short like me!) and it's impossible to know if the dress will fit and look good until it arrives. This has been happening for years so I'm pretty sure those companies are very much used to this and have factored it into their prices by now! Infact, companies I've bought dresses from in the past make it so easy to return goods these days that it probably encourages a lot of people to order more as the returns process is so hassle-free (unfortunately not in this instance for the OP)

Yes very unfair. It is the norm nowadays, like it or not.

"for ordering stuff she knew she didn't want" - Think before you type next time bud.

    P.S. she didn`t order 10 BTW :p

It may be the "norm" but i still think it's a silly thing to do!. You even said in your original post that she was retuning the ones she didn't want. So she did order things she knew she would have to return!. Which like I said increases the prices for everyone!.
The logical way to do it would be to order one item/size of what you want. Then if it's not what you want then send it back and change it.

If you take Amazon for example (which I know isn't primarily a clothes retailer) they will ban you if you return too many items. This just goes to show how much is effects the retailer and how much prices will be increased by!

Maybe I'm missing something, in which case - I apologise.

So she ordered a bunch of stuff it was worn then sent back and you're upset that the 'free' outfits took a little bit of time to be turned around and weren't completely free?

That company is out of pocket of admin time picking costs restocking costs processing your refund but DID refund you and now you're ALSO trying to use MSE to slam the company and ensure future loss of earnings because you didn't get the service you 'expected' from your FREE clothes?

    Wait... what ?!?

I don't necessarily blame people for doing what you did but for then ripping into the company who gave you 'free' wedding outfits for not doing so quite quickly enough seems beggars belief ...

Women don`t order one dress, any women will tell you that.
She never ordered items she didn`t want and only intended to return, she only returned items that turned out to be unsuitable due to size, preference etc.
If the retailer was so against this then they wouldn`t encourage and endorse it.
Anyway, thanks for the reply. Most appreciated. Haha.

Yes, you are missing something - the most important part....I still haven`t been REFUNDED. Anyway, my main gripe was the total lack of customer service, not even a reply to two separate e-mails regarding the refund.

OK, so if the RIGHT size was wanted and the intention was always to keep it - it makes the case much more reasonable.

But a huge, huge number of people will now for instance buy dresses for all of the bridesmaids, have the wedding and then return them.

So can't blame me and several others for drawing that conclusion...

Now that that's cleared up, it does sound like the refund will be with you shortly .. So it took a little longer but nothing much doing now?

You said in your original post that she also returned dresses to TWO other sites. So it is obviously clear she is ordering extra items knowing that she will return some of them.

If the retailers encourage and endorse this then show me a website that says they recommend that you order extra clothes and return the ones you don't want?.

The way they want customers to do it is order clothes they intend to keep and then only return them of they want to change them for a different one or change the size.
If everyone used your method that would mean the company has to budget the cost of having to process one return package for every sent out!. This is a big cost for the retailer and increase the price of every item!
