Aggressive Driving

I've had cars pull out in front of me. Its annoying but i've never chased anyone and tried to turn it into an argument. I suspect the op met a motoring moron who is regularly involved in these incidents..0

Did you not read the earlier posts? I did look several times - she was in the wrong driving so fast
But you didn't see this person until you had pulled out...so how do you know she was driving so fast? Presumably you didn't pull out and instantly go 30mph. Took you at least 5-8 seconds to get to 30mph?
Sounds like you (unintentionally) pulled out on her, she didn't like it.
Did we get a full story? Did you then brake check her because she flashed? Did you gesture?
Maybe she had a terrible day and had just fallen out with her fella. Small things can push you over the edge when you are angry. Not that I'm making excuses for her.0 -

As you get a more experienced as a driver you will get to knoŵ how to do it safely.I used to be indecisive but now I am not sure.0 -
I was once road-raged by a stupid bloke who wanted to go straight ahead when he was meant to merge in behind my lane (Blue House roundabout heading north). He followed me for ages, driving close, flashing lights, hand gestures the whole nine yards.
I phoned the local cop shop (Gosforth if anyone's interested though it's been knocked down now) on my hands free mobile to warn them about what was happening. Then I drove to the police station, stopped in the middle of the road and let the lovely men in blue have serious words with said idiot.
Female I may be, a victim I ain't!0 -
To the OP, next time drive to the nearest police station, as advised by Gers.
sometimes you have to say sorry and forget it.
I've driven for 30+ plus years, I used to drive a fast mini JCW, that was good for pulling out of junctions. The best ones were when I used to pull out in a 30 year old LHD banger the drivers didn't know who to blame - me or the other half in the front seats.0 -
This is something I see happen, or have had happen to me, many times. There are some very bad, very thoughtless, very dangerous drivers about today and they are about 50/50 male or female.
I lost count of the number who
* Pull out in front of me at junctions when I am on a main road.
* Turn off without indication, often to the right, across my path, braking at the last second.
* (As this gentleman says) - hammer along well above the limit, just as you are turning out, having looked (and observed!) no approaching traffic.
* Ignore completely the priority rule at roundabouts - give way to traffic from your right.
Last week a Taxi driver shot across my bonnet and just stopped in time, lowered his window and shouted abuse. I pointed out the priority rule and was given more abuse. Unfortunately for him, there was a PCSO across the road (unseen by us both) who waved us over to the side road, having taken both Reg. numbers. Eventually a police officer came from the station (ironically, about 100 yards away) and the Taxi driver was taken to the station for a caution.
Why this castigation of elderly drivers as "slow"? I am 71 and I keep to speed limits, but where I can go faster, I do. I am a much better driver than most of the younger ones I see now, there is far too much careless, thoughtless driving. I have driven many different vehicles in my time and I have been an amateur Rally driver. There is simply no excuse for such a thing as 'Road rage': it is a sign of bad temper and bad driving.I think this job really needs
a much bigger hammer.

This is what you call difficult to get rid of.0

Always happens older folk pulling out or pulling away from the side of the road without giving way and failing to get up to speed. Had this on a 60MPH stretch not long ago. Luckily there was no one coming in opposite direction so I could swerve around them without slamming the brakes on. What makes it worse was the fact there was no one behind me so they could have easily waited 5 seconds for me to pass.0

That's one of the few things that really pi***s me off when driving.
Empty road in front of me (apart from someone waiting at a junction), empty road behind me and yet so many drivers seem to intentionally time it so that they pull out right in front of me.0
