Are all English people driving in Germany/France/Spain supposed to know German/French/Spanish?All the road signs in England are in English, will he understand them if he drives?
What is the percentage of British population speaking second language compared to Germany/France/Spain?
The majority of signs have the same look in all countries and are recognisable without knowing the words.
Directional signs do have words, but don't require knowing the language.
Not to mention that not all people arriving to UK have to drive.0 -

Because he's not brain dead? How patronising can you get...How can a bank missell him something if he doesn't speak English?
Because they knew he didn't understand the contract yet sold it anyway... The exact same way they can missell to, for example, a dementia patient.0 -

Taking somebody to help translate, though on the face of it quite sensible, is basically telling them the customer doesn't understand what's happening. That's a giant red flag for a bank these days, given all the arguments over "misselling". They can't know whether the translation is correct and the customer does understand....
The UK legal system appears to manage it. i.e. law courts.
Or is this more evidence that the UK banking sector is above the law?
