Decent charger for iPad 2

I have an iPad 2 and am not planning on upgrading it as it works great: well it does when I can actually charge it. I have purchased about ten chargers over the last couple of years, and despite claims of fast charging, not one has been a fast charger and not one has lasted longer than a month.

Any ideas of where to get a decent fast charger please? Should I go back to genuine Apple products - do they still do chargers for this model?

I often use Juicebitz via ebay - not the cheapest but I've found them well made

Thank you. I don't mind spending money if the items work. If I added up what I have spent over the last couple of years on chargers and cables, I think I would be half way to affording a new iPad!

When charging IOS stuff switch on airplane mode, they charge faster then.

They charge at exactly the same rate. It's just that with data off they are not using up as much power at the same time as you are charging them up.

For Apple stuff you won't get the best performance without buying genuine accessories from Apple, not because they're better, but because (in the case of chargers) Apple use various methods to check that what your using is a genuine Apple product and if not they handicap it.

If you don't want to buy Apple my next best choice would be Swiss Mobile, they're not cheap but are well built and as fast as Apple/android official chargers. IME they last much longer than the genuine Apple ones.

just a point on battery chemistry, if you continually "fast charge" you run the risk of shortening battery life, depending on the kit and what protection is built into it....
