new build flaws - compensation?

most of the issues have been rectified now, but the worst thing was having the hall way a total mess over Christmas, as the walls were so wet the plaster turned to mush and started running down the wall, as well as the hole in the ceiling, (this occurred the day I was due to go to a job interview as well!)
I used up about 6 days of annual leave, in order to be at home for most of the repairs, many took multiple visits to sort
I've now taken 3 days off this week to facilitate more work, mostly decoration, things like walls not painted above door frames, doors not painted at edges, whole staircase with cracks, paint blobs and inconsistent finish, mastic around tiles to be redone, new front door lock, possibly new living room
the builders own tradesmen, as well as sales and customer care have been really good however, again they have really been let down by their contractors.
still waiting for arrangements for the new sink, kitchen units and hob
most of the issues are down to the plumbing and decorator contractors (not builders own)
my neighbour, and a friend who lives around the corner, have had nothing like the issues I have had, I've just got jinxed!
oh and its KIER0 -

This thread has put me off new builds now...
Bringing back memories of the last new build I bought seeing the expensive flooring lift in patches due to being laid when the moisture was too high in the room and more...0 -
because we all have somebody available to baby sit a builder.
Our developer had one of our keys for a month. Let's be honest, if anything untoward was to happen - it's fairly easy to point the blame.
Sounds like it is you being unreasonable and not giving the developer a proper chance to make right what is wrong.
A big fat cheque isn't going to sort any of this really, is it?0
