Notice of transfer and charge

Options
Some advice from someone with some experience of this would be much appreciated.

I completed on the sale of my leasehold buy to let flat in mid March. It is an ex-council property. My solicitors told me that the buyer's solicitors were responsible for serving notice of transfer and charge to the council. However, I am still receiving correspondence from the council regarding my service charge account, and they are still collecting the monthly amount, so they clearly haven't been served this notification yet. At 6 weeks after the sale, I am surprised this is still outstanding. My solicitors say there is nothing they can do to rush this process through since it is the buyer's solicitors responsibility.

I am slightly concerned that this is all out of my control especially if any major works are planned and I am considered to still be the owner. My mortgage has been redeemed and my solicitor has received discharge notification so that is all taken care of.

Does this mean the land registry deed is still in my name as well? I am not familiar with this process, it is the first time i have ever sold.

Thanks. Advice welcome.

I am not an expert but, I would definitely cancel DD to council contact of the sale and give details of the new owners...

I have just bought a house (WELL HALF) When my hubby needed a copy of deth cetificate they asked him was property sold and who too and for contact details of new owners

hope this helps a little for you
