How do you sign off JSA without a job?

For a reason which you don't need to know about, I need to sign off JSA but how do I do it? In the booklet where the sign off forms are they only have sections for signing off after getting a job or if you're going into training/education. So how would I go about it if my reasoning is neither of those?

Thanks in advance

    The same way.
  • Which section would I use though?
  • Just don't sign on again and they will sign you off automatically.

If you'd rather write than phone, simply write you no longer wish to claim JSA and leave it at that. You don't have to give a reason if you don't want to either on the phone or by letter.
Master Apothecary Faranell replied, “I assure you, overseer, the Royal Apothecary Society dearly wishes to make up for the tragic misguidance which ended so many lives. We will cause you no trouble. We seek only to continue our research in peace".

What bad advice that is to give, If a claimant fails to sign on DWP will issue a sanction against the claim and if they do close the claim, The sanction remains in place even though a claim is closed, And it would carry on the next time the person wishes to claim JSA,

The quickest way to sign off is phone JSA and they will do it over the phone and it takes about 10 mins.

Thank you paragon909, do you know what sort of things they would ask?

There really isn't anything to ask.... Just call on Tuesday say "I want to close my claim for JSA" They will put you on hold and process your request upon doing so a final payment will be generated.

Well you're not signing a contract for Arsenal because that might throw up the possibility of why last work ended and/or money in the bank on a future claim.

Ditto for anything that might suggest money now like a round the world cruise.

Perhaps you are going away to a retreat to re-evaluate your options; maybe you will research an idea for a new book; or you don't need to claim anymore because you want to focus on a relationship; you're going to visit with family and in all honesty you can't look for work while away...or....

What's that all about? The OP simply asked how to sign off JSA and made it clear that they don't wish to explain why. Making that clear from the outset would hopefully prevent the usual questions about the reason.

    Eh?

I wasn't questioning the OP's reasons nor asking for them.

I was trying to give examples of how making things up (like earning £100k a week or having the money to go on a world cruise) might actually present some difficulties in the event of a repeat application later on whereas other, more realistic reasons, would not.

Surely the way I ended - without ending the sentence - conveyed that a reason was really unimportant so long as something wasn't made up and presented problems later.

Perhaps one needs to have worked in the system to appreciate it.;)
