hi, could i ask a bit of advice ?
just been interviewed for a new job at a building society, and they asked if i had ccj's, bankruptsy, bad credit.....
so, one i was rather embarrased by this and said i had made a few late payments in the past. which is true, but nothing major, but i do have mortgage arrears which we are paying off due to basically money problems. i didnt say that to him as actually dont i want someone i work with to know such personal info but i know im going to get credit scored. my credit score cant be that bad as last year i got a 0% credit card but still it will probably show. so, do i email him and say i forgot to mention the arrears, or do i leave it and wait and see or what ?? decisions decisions.... advice please.
thanks

They won't be looking for a score as you don't have one in their eyes, they'll look at your credit history, repayment history and if you're in any current financial troubles. If you don't have CCJs, bankruptcy orders or general bad credit at the moment despite being in arrears with your mortgage then you'll hopefully be okay.
Whatever you do, don't email him.0 -
Your score is a pointless number made up by the credit companies. Nobody uses them.
Your credit history is what they will want to look at.
An ex of my son worked for Natwest as a mortgage advisor and she had to have a spotless financial record.
It's not good business to have people who can't handle their own finances advising others0 -
ok so SLZ you think dont come clean first ??
burlington6 - i wont be advising people on their money / mortgages just working in branch - it feels like a bit of discrimination against people whos lives dont run like clock work !!0 -
As long as you don't have a history of CCJ, Bankruptcy or being in an IVA within the last 6 years it should not be an issue. Mortgage arrears would as you have stated count as missed payments on your credit file which is what the bank would see if they checked your credit history.0
