I would like to get advice on where to make a post asking for help and suggestions regarding a problem I have. I was miss-sold something and only want to ask for advice on what I can or should do about it.
18 months ago I bought an iPad and the (well known) supplier said I could not connect to the internet using my 3 phone connection and it is only now that I find this is not true. They sold me a very expensive EE connection so that I could connect the iPad to the internet and after paying a lot of money for a connection I dd not need I have cancelled it.
Can I ask for a refund from the iPad seller who gave me the wrong information?
I will move my post if I can be advised where it should be
Thanks

Do you have anything to prove that you were missold? If the iPad had a SIM, one must be very naive to think that it can't use mobile data.
Regardless, if you've bought it in a shop and it's a contract, not PAYG, they have to have a copy of the contract that you signed. If they don't have it, you possibly have a case.0 -
Thank you. The iPad does not have a sim card but works on hotspot or Bluetooth. There is a contract but I was not aware at the time that the seller was giving me wrong information. I was asked to show my phone and told it could not connect the iPad to the internet which was not true. My belief now is that I was given the information in order to sell me a new mobile contract that I didn't really need.0

What would be a point of any tablet if it couldn't connect to the internet?
All tablets can. Some via WiFi only, some, that have a SIM slot, via mobile data as well. I don't think that any can connect via Bluetooth.
If your tablet doesn't have a SIM, what mobile contract are you talking about that allegedly was sold to you together with iPad?
If you are using your '3' phone as a WiFi hotspot, your iPad cannot use it on it's own. You should have deliberately connected it to this WiFi hotspot at some point and you couldn't do this accidentally.0 -
Thank you. The iPad is now connected to the phone via a hotspot. It was deliberately connected to that. When sold to me the iPad was connected to EE via a new phone contract. I have a very bad tendency to believe people when they put themselves forward as experts. I didn't question it when I was told I couldn't use my 3 connection as a hotspot.0

So, iPad was sold with a new SIM?
Well, even if they did say this, they will obviously deny it vigorously as it would be a blatant lie. Complain by all means, but don't hold your breath.
However, it's worth saying that most mobile phone tariffs don't allow 'tethering' - using your mobile phone for connecting other devices to the internet.
And change your 'bad tendency'. Learn the lesson: do your research and don't believe a word any sales person tells you. They are even worse than politicians.0
