Surely Not?

Options
Been looking around for some auction properties and had this little beauty pop up in Romford.

Surely this can't be legal? It's basically a converted garage at the bottom of someone's garden!

Well, if it has planning permission, building regs, council tax registration etc then yes it would be legal:

But I somehow doubt those will all be OK....

Even better, the current hostage appears to be paying rent.

I like the lock on the "front door".
And the front step - a brilliant touch that they've painted the pallet blue.

But even better I like the fact that it is 201(B) Crow Lane.
Does this suggest that the owners have done this previously and have another shack in the garden which is 201(A)?
  • And the tenant is paying £155 a week for that windowless bunker :(
  • And there's 81 years left on the lease meaning you'd pay marriage value if you tried to buy the freehold.

I struggle to see how that could be legal to let? Would it be gas safe, power safe? Fire exits?

I came across this property and thought hmm strange.

Are you only looking in the Romford area?

I've seen some other properties listed with other auctioneers in the London/Essex area.

Let on an assured shorthold tenancy at £155.57 per week (£8,089.64 per annum).

Jeez! You can rent a decent 2 bedroom house or flat for that sort of money round here. Someone actually pays that just because it's kinda near London?

    Is this a joke?
