Friday 29th April - what small DFW things will you do today?

When we start out on the DFW trail we do loads of "big stuff" that makes quite a difference to our situation. These include having our lightbulb moment, cutting up the credit cards and cancelling Sky and the gym.
But once we have done the bigger stuff, we often feel that we are not making the same amount of progress, when in fact the small steps are helping us form good financial habits and helping us get closer everyday to staying in control and becoming debt free, or staying debt free.
Examples could be hanging washing out instead of using the tumble dryer or leaving your purse/wallet at home to avoid the risk of spending.
So be proud of those small steps, they really are important!

Really early night am v tired

Morning :hello:
Thanks for the start PF - we must bank at the same place because I haven't been paid either.
Just spent 15 mins on hold to them to find out that it's a problem at their end. I knew that it was a problem with them rather than work when I had to wait so long to get an answer on the phone. I was told that they are working on it and it should be sorted in a couple of hours.
I'm definitely better than I was yesterday, but not 100% by any stretch. I'm thrilled to have made it to Friday and a long weekend though.
Although on Friday I have to survive the nightmare of 3 kids clubs
Today's plans:
:cheesy: keep an eye on banking to make sure that pay goes in
:cheesy: make use of my free time at work wisely
:cheesy: stay dosed up on paracetamol
:cheesy: minimal heating - as it's still snowing I really can't get away with no heating at all
:cheesy: get dd to cheer
:cheesy: get dd to gymnastics
:cheesy: get ds to football
:cheesy: try not to stress
:cheesy: no housework other than the bare minimum
:cheesy: early night
Have a good day everyone :money:

I often find that my balance doesn't update till after 9am on payday. Is that not normal then?

Morning all...
Not logged in for a couple of days as early starts at work and haven't been very DFW. So DFW for the day-
-cash an unexpected cheque
-have received cards etc for new account so going to transfer my spending money for May and change pins to memorable number
-transfer paypal money and money goes towards debt
-letters/filing built up over past few days so need to sort that out
-pamper/bath from toiletries that already have
-list 2 items for ebay (have decided that only putting items that likely to reach over £10 on ebay as not worth it for me otherwise)
-hopefully have a NSD - going out this evening which may involve a small spend
Hope everyone has a great dayDebt outstanding [STRIKE]£3491.[/STRIKE] £3303
NSD 10/150 -
Shan't be spending today, as mr f took one look at me & told me to stay in bed. He's not working today. Says he will go & get the grocery shopping in & then clean the house. Hoping I'll pick up enough to work on my knitting order later & have a little walk down to the greenhouse to water my veggie babies but at the moment even that feels like tackling a marathon xx2025's challenges: 1) To fill our 10 Savings Pots to their healthiest level ever
2) To read 100 books (46/100) 3) The Shrinking of Foxgloves 8.1kg/30kg

Hi All,
Its a very strange day here, again! Rain last night, now a mixture of clouds, lots of wind, sun trying to breakthrough but very cold! My DD has been given the responsibility of looking after the nursery pet for the weekend, a snail! I am still feeling a little rough, the children are also still coughing and sniffly.
Well, money is tight for the end of the month, I have had to borrow money :mad: to get me through. But its budgeted for in next months finances to pay back. Wish I could get out of this annoying cycle. So angry at myself, but I know where I am going wrong, shamefully dont have the confidence to put it into words as makes me feel terrible.
Was wondering if any of you :money:friends could offer some advice. I am looking at opening ISA's for the children and doing research. My eldest has a CTF when they were around which was with Tesco and I believe is now with Nat-pest! Now, I believe he cant have an ISA as well, am I right? Would we need to transfer his CTF to an ISA? I believe his CTF is a shares one (please bear with me, I am not very knowledgeable about these things!) and I am wondering if I should just stick with the CTF or move to an ISA? I just want a standard ISA for the kiddies, nothing complicated, just something for me to build a pot for their future. If anyone could offer advice, it would be greatly appreciated.
I hope you are all feeling better, getting some rest and enjoy a long weekend! xDMP Started June 20160 -
MTC I think if you look on the main site and search on junior isas it brings up the info re CTF/junior isas, I still haven't got round to looking at my kids ones, I'd better add it to my Annoying things list for May!
I used the resolver tool the other day to complain to phone company about customer service, I've just had a call back from them and they are refunding the extra charge that I didn't feel was justified :A Its only £6.50 but its MY £6.50! :A:A
Thanks!
I love a little moan every now and again, can get you a freebie or bit of compensation :T
I have opened DD's and DS2's ISA's... Just not sure whats best for DS1. It gets so complicated. I think I need to dig the paperwork out and figure out whats best. Im sure he has an investment CTF which means it could go up or down.... I have never added to it, all he has in it is his money he got from the government, which I 'think' worked out to be £100.00 at the time. Maybe I should just open a savings account for him which he cant touch, if they exist. Oh, decisions decisions!DMP Started June 20160
