Well another night sleeping on the settee, my house guest doesn't do sleeping on her own, still I wasn't cold as she cuddles in like a furry hot water bottle.
Am I right in thinking she's a Yorkie? We've had one of those to stay a few times - little chap called Dave. He sleeps on his owner's bed at home, so when he comes to us, he sleeps on our bed, and always tucks himself in behind my knees. :o

I set my alarm clock for half past seven so I was up and dressed before the builders came. The phone went at six forty five and woke me from a deep sleep so I got up early. Just as well as my new sofa arrived half an hour later. It looks really good and the old one is now in the garage ready to be given away.

My bathroom is not quite finished and the new shower goes in on Tuesday so lucky we have a bathroom upstairs. The fitted wardrobe is being taken away so there is more space in the garage.

I made a casserole thingy with chicken, chopped tomatoes, roasted veg, fresh mushrooms and cannellini and fajita beans which should be enough for tonight with a couple of portions to freeze.

It is chilly and wet here but once the builders go I need to pop into the medical centre and collect a prescription.

    Hugs to all

  • Afternoon ((((((((((hugs)))))))))) if you need one.

We arrived home at 12.45 after a reasonable journey, just one hold up an oil tanker had shed a tyre so was in the inside lane on the A1. Between Grantham and Here we ran into a hail shower, but the sun was bright as we arrived.

Left over baked beans on toast for lunch, OH unpacked some of the stuff, the kitchen cupboards are looking full again with things we did not use.

I have washed a fleece blanket and its on the line, By the way has anyone ever washed a 100% silk blouse? I have a cream one that needs a wash, it says do not wash, I wonder if I dare give it a very gentle hand wash and press it whilst its still wet, or have I got to bite the bullet and take it to the cleaners?

Dead headed the daffs, OH has watered the plants that we left in the kitchen and the plants we brought home. Lots of new bits peeping through. The lawn at the back could do with mowing.

The house is quite cold, so I have put the heating on, will light the sitting room fire shortly, the place will soon warm up.

Linen basket is full so will have to put a wash on depends on the forecast for tomorrow.......
  • Just back home from a super day with DD2 and Zebra, we met them at Westonbirt Arboretum and had so much fun but we are now tired, the roads out were empty but coming home very busy and ended with the M27 blocked so we took the country route home which took much longer but we kept moving. Only had one huge shower while we were out but luckily we'd just got into the restaurant for lunch so avoided getting wet. Little lad has so many words now and is putting sentences together (of a sorts) like Wellies ON Oma in car go home. We did lots of RUNNING OMA and hiding inside trees that grew down to the ground so we could jump out at mum, we'd taken him a couple of books and some snackage which he enjoyed very much and he was mostly good but is developing an independent streak and tries to do his 'own thing' by walking in the opposite direction and going deaf when called, until he realises how far away we are and then beams and runs at us, so sweet. Nice to be back and having a cuppa now, came into the village in pouring rain and now it's sunny and dry again, can't be bored with the weather in the UK can we? Lyn xxx.
