Good Morning all, still blooming cold ,even down in the south.Bank holiday weekend again so guaranteed to be grotty. I have History club this afternoon which always makes for a good end-of-the-week, as we do have such a giggle there, apart from discussing a history subject we all have a good sense of humour and tend to stray at times from the subject :)
grandsons are all deep into revision as exams are looming.

Gardener came yesterday and my lawn looks lovely now, even got straight lines :):):)
Watched the last episode of Line of Duty last night and its such a great series with so many twists and turns Glad to hear that there will be a third series next year, thoroughly enjoyed it.
Its pension day today but apart from topping up with diesel I have no shopping to buy I dug some scotch braising beef out of the freezer last night so that's all going into the SC today with some onion, carrot and mushrooms and diced peppers and a dollop of garlic, there were three packets in there so I will cook them and portion up for meals next week. Its so chilly that a few beef casseroles will soon warm me up.Almost May and I am still making casseroles.Daft this weather grr...
Hope everyone has a good day not matter what they are doing
Cheers chums

Morning all

Hester your providing treats for departments at work despite taking a pay cut?

I'm not sure if I'm ill or if the black dog has got me well and truly by the throat. I'm awake all night, desperate for sleep all day and when I go to bed I struggle to sleep.

Hubby phoned one of his work mates last night. There's problems at work. Talk of favouritism as Hubby's been moved to a different department. Oh well, if there's an atmosphere he'll just walk out again.

Onwards and forwards

Have a great day all

Morning :hello:

Moorhen Yes, I'm being very OCD about the freezer! I found some chicken breasts in the veg drawer a few days ago, I was really cross and had a good grumble about it – to myself because there was no-one else here :D

The sun came out and I quickly warmed up while I was out. I was wearing furry boots, leggings, a big thick jumper and a coat, I was sweltering by the time I got home :D Scampi was fab with people he knows and a stressy nightmare with strangers, we had to cross roads far too many times to keep him away from people.

Rolls of wrapping paper are a pain to store, I had nowhere to keep it without it either getting in the way or getting squashed. I've covered a large cereal box with patterned paper, the rolls of paper are stood in it in the bottom of my wardrobe.

I never got around to painting the MDF shelves in the hall cupboard when we put them in – about five years ago! - so that's the next job on my list. The decluttering is almost finished, I'll do the last few things this morning. No housework today – I'm going to sit and crochet all afternoon.

Tru- With all the decluttering your doing, did you read the Kon Marie book?
Judi - Oh dear, things haven't been particularly smooth of late. I do hope things get better in your hubby's new position.
IslandMaid - That's what I call a productive day!!

Morning all, I hope you are well.
I had a bit of an unsettled night, partly due to my sons anxiety and inability to fall asleep independently . I was still awake at 1.30 and up again by 7.30 so not the longest sleep for me.
Hester I see you are still up very early. I hope you are getting enough rest. Although you have made some decisions I sense there is still a lot on your mind. Do look after yourself. Xx
Judi it sounds like things are catching you up, hope you feel better soon. Xx
Today I need to take DS for a haircut. This just happens to be near some charity shops, so I may have a browse around them.
I could do with some solar energy to perk me up today. Feeling a bit low and I know the sun would help. Not sure what we will do over the bank holiday but there is lots of de cluttering to do, if we end up at home.
Hugs to everyone that needs one. I hope you all have a peaceful Friday xxx

Morning everybody,

Bright and sunny here today and from what i see it will remain like this all day :D
Did alot more packing last night- kitchen is almost empty now. Will concentrate on getting bits to charity/tip this weekend to make space. I'm taking no prisioners with decluttering! Will go through my wardrobe too.
It's friday and thank goodness :jwill do something quick for tea, for DD...have a couple of rouge fish fingers, a lonely corn-on-cob and a portion of mash to use, I will finish up last nights casserole.

Need to do a darks wash later and have loads of ironing to put away. Will change bed sheets but wash tomorrow, hopefully i can get them out on the line. Luckily i don't work bank holidays so Monday is an extra day of housework- will take DD somewhere for a treat too.

I can hear the kettle calling me :coffee:
Have good days all xx

That's the kitchen scrubbed, tidying up done, most washing folded and put away, a few thicker items still airing.

I am making a meatloaf for dinner, that's what OH chose. I can't get that prepped until the meat is defrosted, we'll have mashed potatoes, shallot gravy and green veg. Easy peasy dinner, especially as I can prep that and the veg in an hour or so, meanwhile I am watching the changes from sunny to cloudy to hailstorm, rinse and repeat.

I finished a card for my friend's granddaughter last night, now she needs another for her new great niece. So I can sit around doing that, a good day with the satisfaction of a clean kitchen combined with doing something I enjoy.

Island maid, I am glad I am not the only one struggling to feed a long tall gannet. Sometimes I can't believe that my tiny little prem baby is 24, bigger than me and ravenous so often. He was a little B to feed as a tot too.
I was jumping to conclusions and one of them jumped back
