I have at least 8 devices connected to my router, do you think I should relinquish my claim to the sole occupancy Council Tax discount?0

Seriously? How would that work? I have two personal laptops, a work laptop, a tablet computer and a smartphone. How many people live in my house?
If the number of devices that regularly connect suddenly goes up from your usual maximum of 3 to 6 or 9 it's pretty clear someone else has moved in.
I have a colleague who has HMOs and he does this. Everything is included in the rent including wifi, and this is why.0 -

And what would he do if someone had moved in?....0 -

On what basis, he has no contract with them.
His legal tenant can move anyone they want into their room, which they have a right to both quiet enjoyment and exclusive possession.
He could evict his legal tenant of course, but outside of that he could do nothing else.
Perhaps worth educating 'him' on this fact.0 -

By my calculations, I therefore have 33 people living in my house currently……… Does explain where the food goes when my 14 year old tells me it wasn't him who cleared out the fridge….0 -

Clearly not if he think he can charge his tenants' guests rent.
I would in fact say he is very stupid if he thinks that's the case.0 -

You're very confident in your conclusions based on the information you have, which is none. How many properties does my colleague own? You must also know that based on what I've provided.0
