Always worth a go - I've had Slimdrivers in my toolkit for a few years, and it can often find working drivers where other methods have failed....
Observation ... I had Slimdrivers installed on my laptop. (Had been for a while). I ran it recently and it identified updated Intel mobo etc. drivers which I installed.
After that I was randomly getting a Command window appearing, some text appearing therein and then the window closing ... all happening before I could do anything to try and check what was going on.
I rebooted into Safe Mode with Networking and ran ADWCleaner ... it found various things on my PC which it recommended for removal - one of which was Slimdrivers!
(I can't remember where I originally downloaded Slimdrivers from ... ADWCleaner I got from BleepingComputers).0 -

Yes, it's a good idea to be careful from where you download even a useful tool. I use Filehippo mostly.0 -
The reason I can't remember is because it was so long ago. I'm also careful of where I download things from, also tending to use Filehippo, BleepingComputers and MajorGeeks.
I'd not previously had any issues with Slimdrivers ... it was only after this latest use of it that the issue I describe happened.0 -

Later versions of adwcleaner do flag slimdrivers, but I choose not to remove it if it's on a machine I know has been a problem for drivers, think it's a false positive IMHO. Do only download SD from Slimware's site though, not through softpedia or wherever
In terms of the cmd prompt window, ensure in sd you have it set not to automatically check for updates and not to run on windows start-up......Gettin' There, Wherever There is......
I have a dodgy "i" key, so ignore spelling errors due to "i" issues, ...I blame Apple0 -
I don't remember selecting that option when I used it last, but I can't guarantee I didn't ... it's the age you see.0
