2k Budget - 30,000 Miles A Year
Comments
-
For 30K a year,I would personally be looking at a car with cruise and comfort.
Its all well and good listing VAG this, diesel that.
As someone who clocks up plenty miles. Factors such as seating position, cruise, climate etc matter just as much to me. The likes of a Golf just wouldnt do it for me.
vag =/= golf
there are passats, audi a4 that use the 1.9 pd engine.
if you prefer a more upright position you could even get a light mpv like a touran or caddy.0 -

So glad you clarified a Golf was made by the VAG group.........
I'm fully aware of the other marques/models in the group.
However nobody was making any distinction or making mention of comfort/features.0 -

Surely that's down to the OP to look at when they view cars. Why would you get an unsuitable car just because it has cruise control? I was driving 35,000 miles a year in a MK4 Golf TDI with no problems. There are plenty of them with cruise control & climatronic as it was available. Seating position is down to the individual, some might not find it comfortable in a Golf so Passat might be more suitable. You have plenty of options in the VAG range of cars with the PD130 engineRemember the saying: if it looks too good to be true it almost certainly is.0 -

Did I say get an unsuitable car? My point is people were simply listing engines and the mention of cars like Golfs. Personally I like a larger car for longer miles.
You seem stuck on VAG as you drive one. So do I,however a car is more than its engine.
My point was and still is, To look at the entire package.0 -
Would a Ford Mondeo not be a better value option than a VW at this sort of money?0

Yup. I know the budget well.
So there are no suitable 2K cars with some level of comfort?
We shall whack him in a base model Polo then,as long as it has the right engine?0 -

Yes.
As would a Focus or even an Astra.0 -
£2000 and 30,000 miles a year has to be a wind up,no sane person would buy a banger to do this
OP go back to your employer and tell them you want the finest wines cake and a company car or you quit
trust me its for the best0 -

I can't see many employers giving someone a company car solely for commuting to work every day.
The OP hasn't made any mention of the car being used for work - only for 90 miles a day getting to and from work.0
