3 Mobile cut me off
3 Mobile may offer a great deal in Europe with their "Feel at Home" service but having reached the 2 month time limit, they simply cut off my phone. I expected that when I reached the time limit I would simply be charged at standard European rates but instead I received a text message to advise me that as I had reached the FAH time limit my service was being terminated. I therefore have no means of calling for help if I take ill or if I am involved in an accident.

... I expected that when I reached the time limit I would simply be charged at standard European rates...
Usage restrictions:If you roam exclusively in a Feel At Home destination for any 2 complete months in a rolling 12 month period, we may suspend international roaming on your account, which means you'll no longer be able to use your device or allowances abroad.0 -
Grumbler. You may quote 3 Mobile policies to me but how idiotic are they? At the end of the FAH period all 3 mobile have to do is change customers to EU Rates to continue their service and keep customers.. Not cut off services and potentially put lives at risk! Are you working for 3 mobile and supporting their ill conceived policies?
After my experiences with 3 mobile and their Customer Support I will
be moving to a reliable mobile network.0 -
Yeah. I work for Three and for several banks at the same time. You are not the first one to accuse me of this - and all these accusations simply because I do my best to remain unbiased.
Yes, the policy might be idiotic. Even more silly is to make groundless assumptions and "potentially put your life at risk" instead of spending a few minutes on checking the facts.0 -
You also have to dig deeply to find the 'small print' about the 2 months rule. I rarely use my 3 SIM, however, I would not even be able to use my inclusive minutes etc if I breached the 2 month rule. Carphone warehouse have the same sort off deal with their ID SIM called the Takeaway plan. They don't have the two month rule. I am leaving 3 and going there.0

So you are going to sign up to a twelve month contract with iD in order to use it 'rarely'? There are more expensive than 3 and you are going to be using the 3 network in the UK anyway. That looks like a plan...to bite your nose off in order to spite your face.
I suppose the option of a 3 SIM on PAYG evaded your thought process.0 -
It didn't 'evade my thought process' because 3 have the same restrictive '2 month rule' whether you are on contract or PAYG!...to make matters worse ID lied to me on their Chat Service. It turns out they have the same restrictive '2 month rule' as 3 have.0

If you are going abroad that often, why not get a SIM card for a local network instead?0 -

Do you need to have the same number? Just swap SIMs and inform those who need to know of your new number..0
