  • Hester - £120 is still £120. Disappointing to hear but you're on the right forum to help get by, that's for sure.
  • Afternoon, ((((((hugs)))))) if you need one,

Hester, I am pleased that the cut in pay is not as bad as you thought it might be. It's still not good. Wages should be going up, prices are going up all the time.

Today is our last day here. We went down to the point for a while this morning. On the way back to the caravan we filled up with the cheapest fuel we have found here.

This afternoon we are packing up everything we will not need for the rest of today, so we just have to lift the stuff into the car in the morning. I would usually clean the van before we leave, this time I am not going to. They pay cleaners, I do not feel like making their job easier.

It's a bright day so far, the wind is bitter though, we are forecast rain, sleet, hail and snow........as long as it does not stop us going home tomorrow I am not bothered.

Hester. Several people have the same view as me regarding your downsizing, hang on to your machine, you never know what's in the future and you may well be glad you have kept it. If possible look for 2 bedrooms, I know it will be more expensive, you live in an expensive area, just bear it in mind when you are looking.

Have you had your house valued, it will give you some idea of what you may have available.

    Afternoon all,

just a quick visit to see how you all are whilst my Grandson is asleep. He's having a late sleep today as it took him forever to eat his dinner. I didnt want to read and run.

Hester so sorry to hear your reasons for your decision to downsize but totally understand them. Sorry to hear of your pay cut but glad it wasnt worse.

    Onwards and forwards,

    Have a great day all.

    Hester

I am so glad things were not as bad as you thought.

I have just rescued two loads of washing as it had started to rain and will try to get the stuff on airers later. Just had a phone call to say my new sofa will be delivered tomorrow sometime :j New bedroom curtains might be arriving tomorrow too so feel I am making progress at last.

Builders are still working on the bathroom so will cook something quick, easy and healthy later like steak with a green veg medley and also make up roasted mixed veg with tomatoes, mushrooms, garlic and herbs to use as a base to add chicken to for a sort of curry or pasta dish for tomorrow.

Cold here and sky has gone grey making it feel icy.

    Hugs to all

    Hi everyone,

Hester shame about the pay cut. Can't believe nmlc's friend had to take a £2k cut. Scandalous!

Just been to the Opticians to learn how to put in and take out contact lenses. Suffice to say I am going back next week to try again... and I now have a sore right eye.

Off up to the local Brewers Fayre for dinner as it's curry night.

    Hi guys,
Later from me today. Went to the Hospice yesterday. Had a young girl doing tap dancing to entertain us. Really good:T

Had a fall last night. Usually this means a UTI. Went to doctor, no infection. Hope it doesn't happen again. Knees feel so bruised I can hardly walk :o

Went for lunch with a friend. Had sweet chilli chicken and rice. Piece of bread pudding tonight!

Hester, glad you got your pay cut sorted. xg

H h glad that you now know where you are pay wise.

Weather is awful. Snow earlier and has been pouring down with rain all afternoon. Also very cold.Went to town , dropped lucky in charity shops,2 BNWT Evans dresses for me and a pair of Mountain Warehouse zip off walking trousers for my daughter for scout camps. With my "Happy cash" I treated myself to toast and pot of tea in Waitrose and read one of their papers.Unfortunately my local Farmfoods is shutting for a refurbishment so will be shut for 12 days so stocked up and then ended up playing freezer Tetris .

    Hugs

    Afternoon everyone.

I survived the three days and am back at Mum's in Glasgow. The group were really lovely and I enjoyed the last two days, but not day one or the accommodation. However, I've been in worse. So looking forward to getting home tomorrow afternoon.

Glad to hear that your review wasn't too awful HH. And you have your plans already to go.

Elona - it's good when builders leave. Mine has just sent me a text saying all the work is done and the place is tidy. No doubt there will be redecoration to be done though I'll wait until the corner cupboard is taken out and the corner made good.

No cup of tea, and heading for a glass of Rioja instead!
