Morning everyone,
Hester will be thinking of you this morning, hope all goes well
Cold, bright and frosty here. Yesterday was lovely, spending it with my beloved. We managed to find some shoes he wanted in a sale , went for a cold walk round the backs of the colleges then had a fab lunch in a city restaurant. Funny, coz after 4 weeks on the BSD, I had half my roll and a few French fries and felt stuffed. My tummy did feel bloated as wellAnyways it was a fab day.
Today is work, my last full day before hours change next week :j
Have a good day all, take care folks x0 -
Morning :hello:
Hester Good luck x
It was cold again yesterday and we had a bit of sleet at teatime. Bit surprised to see a frost this morning, I think we've gone from spring straight back to winter, lol.
I didn't get much done yesterday – I fell asleep for an hour after lunch and couldn't get going after that, I was like a zombie for the rest of the daySlept all night for the first time in ages, pleased about that.
I'll get those drawers finished today, then go through my stash of greeting cards and wrapping paper. I'm waiting for my turn in the shower, then I'll take Scampi out for a long walk, come back to zoom around with the dyson and a duster. Then I can get stuck in to the decluttering.

Good morning everyone.
ITS PAYDAY!!!!!!
Hester - good luck today!
Gers - peculiar lunches and dinners...interesting.
Ancient - hate it when that happens!
Tru - good luck with the decluttering. Hope it's productive.
Forgot my lunch today so I'll need to buy something. Damnit. Wanted a NSD.
Today I'll start paying for YNAB and stick to it. I'll get my budget together for the month ahead too. Productive day I hope.
It is freeeeeeezing in the office this morning. Power cut during the night meant the heaters didn't turn on. Plus it's meant to snow later. Would have to be the day I don't bring a big jacket!!!0 -
Good morning everyone
It's a bright and sunny morning here at the moment although rain is forecast for later. Hubby and the girls have gone off to work/school ok. Hubby has booked tomorrow off so he was a happy bunny this morning.
Heard that my friend's mum died last night so will ring her in a bit to offer my condolences. Her mum had been bedbound for the past 20 years so it wasn't exactly a shock although my friend will understandably be very upset.
A different friend is coming over in a minute for a coffee and catch up. She is very loved up at the moment and it is such a joy to see her so happy. She has had a rough ride over the past few years with family issues and abusive relationships but this new man seems to be lovely, just what she deserves.
I didn't hear from my poorly friend yesterday so I will get in touch to see if she is ok. She is having all her family to come and stay next week as the headstone for her son's grave is being delivered and they are going to have a little ceremony. I think she is under too much stress at the moment but she is determined to sort her house out and cook for all of them.
I'm going to make an easy tea tonight of gammon steak, egg, mushrooms and tomatoes with chips for the family and maybe a small baked potato for me. The spicy orange chicken I made yesterday was lovely and the whiole family liked it but it was quite faffy to make so I don't think it's going to be a regular item on the meal plan.
Hester, I hope your meeting goes well and there aren't any nasty surprises.
Gers, I bet you will be glad to get home to your own bed won't you.
ancientofdays, hope you soon get over your tummy upset.
redruby, my dog is currently de-stuffing and de-squeakering a hedgehog.
Hope you all have a great day whatever you are up to, take care xx0 -
Morning everyone, I hope you are all well.
Today looks nice and bright. I hope it stays that warm. It seems a lot of people feel better when the sun is shining.
Yesterday evening, I received an email from Ocado, offering me £20 off a £60 shop, so I browsed their website. I ended up buying £42.44 worth of groceries. Delivery is free, plus on top of the first time shopper £20 discount, I also saved £25 on offers. Admittingly, some of their prices are not the cheapest but as a one off I got a good quality shop for a good price.
Today I will browse Waterstones with my home ed son. We are looking for bird books and will hopefully go down to our local woods to see if we can spot any. I find it very calming being away from the hustle and bustle of the busy town.
Hester good luck with your review, I will be thinking of you . Please let us know how you get on xx
Hugs to anyone who needs one. Have a good day everyone xx“Love yourself first and everything else falls into line. Your really have to love yourself to get anything done in this world.” Lucille Ball.0 -
Morning everyone,
Judi Great news!
Hester Good luck with the review.
AncientGet well soon.
TruIs your freezer still tidy? Mine is looking a bit better but I am still discovering "surprises" most days.
Work is really busy and stressful with everyone getting ready for exams and home is similar as DD1 and DD2 are doing A levels and GCSEs respectively. I can't wait for July!
Have a lovely day everyone.:)0 -
Good Morning all,
Hugs to anyone who needs /wants one.
The sun is shining this morning but rain is forecast later, we are having some really strange weather at the moment- Sun...rain...hail...sun...high winds- You just don't know what to wear!
In the office this morning but working from home this afternoon so I'll have the chance to take pooch for a longer walk than usual.
In the middle of moving house so the place is in a right pickle, can't find anythingBut it has given me a good boost to declutter...and i'm really going for it! I have sent loads to the tip/charity shops and I'm still going :rotfl: Next is the kitchen- I have loads of baking trays/pots n pans that should really of been tossed yonks ago so now is the time, I don't really use half of them anyway!
It has also given me the opportunity to empty my freezers, which is very welcome. More strange combinations for DD
Does anyone know if i can suspend Sky of a couple of months? I have TV,broadband and phone line with them and i have been a customer for almost 10 yrs now. I'm hoping so as i have a little wait until the new house is ready and that would let me save a little.
Hope you all have good days, I'm off for a good read through threads as i have been quite absent recently.

Just a flying visit as I'm at work. It seems all the team have been asked to accept a pay cut. Holiday work and inset days at no longer being worked. I've only lost 120 quid a year and as we have already decided to downsize it's not a huge problem.
Thanks for everyone's support.
Hugs HesterChin up, Titus out.0 -
Afternoon everyone
HH - just read your news regarding a pay cut - not great but in the grand scheme of things not horrendous either. You seem ok with it. I would be too. We've got friends who the lady works in the office of a school, and they had reviews earlier in the year and she's had to take a £2000 per year pay cut to do the same amount of work! But as she says she still has a job, and is getting to the age where she doesn't want to start looking for another and she's been there some years - so if they want her to go they'll have to pay a fair size redundancy payment.
Washing appears to be drying on the line although we have some cloud now.
