I can - domestic abuse/ hostile divorce spring to mind.

My ex owes me lots and lots of cash - not that i expect to ever get it - but if he offered to pay me some back I wouldn't really want him to know where I now lived. Just in case he decided to turn up and be creepy one day.

Not saying that's the case here, but I can see why it might be the case.

Faster Payment through your bank - you need only tell them your sort code and account number. You can even make up a fake name if you want.

If the money is received for goods or services supplied, the purchaser will understandably want to know who to contact if there is a problem with the goods or services. If I was sending money to someone, I would want to know their name and address. If they refused to give it, I would not go through with the transaction.

Even better than faster payments - you don't need to reveal sort code and account number, and could use a PAYG SIM

Let's assume he/she is selling his smelly shoes or used tight etc on 3bay to make some pennies you wouldn't want the strange person who buys your smelly shoes to know your details if you get my drift. Not that dodgy.
