Receiving payment without revealing name and address?

If someone sends payment to an email address which I no longer use but still have access to, I understand that I can add the old email address to my Paypal account and ‘claim’ the money OK.
My question is, does the sender of the money then have access to my name, physical address, phone number etc.?
Thanks

I'm worried about the person sending the money and don't want them to have all my details.
If you can think of another way that would be helpful.0 -

To receive money from someone without them finding out personal details, perhaps using something other than Paypal.
I would under no circumstance send money to someone without knowing exactly who i was dealing with. Might as well put my money in an envelope and post it to Mr nobody.
If some asked me to do this i would consider them very dodgy.0 -
I'm not asking them!!!
For goodness sake, I'm not the dodgy one here, they are asking to send to me and I'm frightened of them knowing my physical address.0 -

And I can't see any explanation that doesn't include something odd/dodgy.
Why are they asking to send you money? How did they get in touch with you to ask you if they could send you money?
I'm assuming you aren't falling for the inheritance email you may have received saying you've come into lots of money?0 -

OK, fair enough but surely you must see how it looks?
As I said earlier, would you send money electronically to somebody if you had no means of confirming their address?
Why are they sending you the money? If you make that clear then maybe somebody will have a solution.0
