    kgm come up as brokers
i know ive said it before but i will repeat
use a known insurer when getting quotes it might cost a bit more but you are buying insurance for the unknown not just to comply with uk law
you say non fault so do you have legal assistance insurance on this policy or your home insurance or via a breakdown cover?
    obviously independent witnesses help
i might have mentioned in a few other threads how even a £15 ebay camera can help in such events but some members go off on threads how you must buy the same cameras they used in the grand national back in 1965

So what price are they starting with before they do any deductions? surely an average is just that and will include data from cars sold in same condition,if the are using a guide price this will already include reduced value sales, are they trying to take the devaluations off again?

    Really miserable.

How do you know they're being miserable? Either tell us the car or go looking yourself for similar cars and see what they're worth, in the same condition, tiny scratches and all.

The starting price is a fair price more or less. What !!!!es me off that they deduct 340£ say damages before accident saying nearside damaged all the way where in reality is no damage unless they really pick hairline scratches...
Also they want 245£ if I keep the car but refuse to deduct from their charges the collection fee which will not take place if I keep the car.
If I scrap the car I will not get more than 140£. How is this work?

Attempted to cancel the claim and they rejected.

    Bully!

You can cancel the claim if you reimberse your Insurers their outlay for costs incurred

The point I was trying to make was, if the starting offer was simply based on a "guide" price that will be calculated on sales of many cars, some in better some in worse condition than yours, it could be argued that, in the average, deductions may have already been made for cosmetic flaws and to deduct them again would be unreasonable.

Motor insurers in this country are out of control, huge profits enforced by legislation.
