Any Italian speakers able to help?

I've been tracing my family tree (I'm half Italian) and I'm trying to figure out the cause of death for two Italian ancestors.

The record is so hard to read so apologies if totally wrong but can anyone translate the below (or figure out what a similar word might be if I have read it wrong lol)

"occini/amni liciasette/ziciaseffe astaliugo" the dashes represent the different ways I believe the word could be spelt (i.e. one way or the other not both lol :rotfl:)

"anni guiraicla are impigato"

Hi, I'm Italian myself

I believe the first line should read "anni diciassette", which translates to "years seventeen", (meaning "age seventeen"). The 3rd word doesn't make sense and I can't think of anything similar, but based on your second line (see below), it could be the job of the person it's referring to.

The second lines reads, again "Anni", so what follows should be a number but I can't make sense of it. "Impigato" could be "impiegato", which means "clerk" or "office worker".

I know it's not a lot but I hope this helps

That does help thanks - she was 17 when she died so that's definitely right - I'm trying to find the cause but it is so hard to decipher the handwriting!

Have you tried Google Translate ? It's not perfect, but it's usually pretty good. And it's free :-)

Yeah I have - but because a lot of the writing isn't clear there's some words that I can't make out for sure but an Italian speaker might be able to pick up on what they might be due to similar words etc

Do you have a picture of the handwritten text; or at least could you take another stab at deciphering it?

I'd love to be able to help more, but I can assure you as a monolingual Italian native speaker, I'm not sure it's possible to make any sense of the words as you spelled them.

The ??? are words I have no idea due to the writing/quality of the picture and there are a few words in there that could be totally wrong as I have tried to interpret handwriting!

I can pick up basics but that's it - and unfortunately my grandmother is the only Italian native that could decipher it but her eyesight has pretty much totally gone my mum and aunts could decipher bits as they have relatively good Italian but some words where the handwriting is bad definitely need a proper Italian speaker to see if they can figure it out

Now that I have the whole passage, I believe "asfalingo" might actually be "casalinga" - housewife
Since every other name mentioned is followed by a mention of their job.

Yeah I think you could be right!

Having look at the passage as a whole I don't think it gives cause of death damn!
