Dumpling well done getting yourself to that meeting. :T
I, too, forced myself a very long way out of my comfort zone today - I just hope it doesn't come back and bite me in the bum in the shape of nightmares tonight!
Mr LW needed a haircut. Now, the sensible thing is for me to wait in the car for him, then we go and do our other errands uptown after he's been "shorn", Not today.... we needed to pick up a couple of "owed" prescription items from S/Drug, also buy some hot lemon powders and throat lozenges cos we both have colds (he takes the powders, I don't cos I'm on morphine) and also go to the market for some more bananas.
So.... I got Mr LW to get the wheelchair out, and self-propelled to S/Drug and the market - dodgy shoulder notwithstanding (lots of swearing under my breath, but hey, it's only pain, right??) - and did the errands myself, and was at the barbers shop just as he came out. No great shakes, you may think, unless you realise I have crippling social phobia, and speaking to the girl in S/Drug and the man on the market stall took the same degree of determination as Dumpling needs to cross her threshold to the outdoors. If your dog thinks you're the best, don't seek a second opinion.;)0 -
Well done LW and dumpling. I can only imagine the courage it took to force yourselves to do these things. I hate going to places with lots of people that I don't know but that's a small thing compared to the difficulties you both have.
DH is a bit of an introvert as well, as is DS but astonishingly DD is the complete opposite, from earliest childhood she was the most outgoing person, making friends wherever she went. She has more friends (and good ones too) than anyone I know, except maybe her husband who seems to be cut from the same cloth.0 -
Well done dumpling I know you will do well, and you've made a new friend as well which will help you no end I am sure i speak for us all on here to say how proud and pleased we all are for you << hugs from your 'virtual' pals '>>

Good for you Lame Wolf - even if you pay for it later feel proud that you had the guts to do it :T
Dumpling I am so pleased it was worth you going beyond your comfort zone , remember the positive feelings you have now and bear them in mind for your next session . Well done .
Gers Enjoy the new books and I hope the other beds stay vacant
Have a good evening all - I am still thawing out from earlier but all in a very good cause .

Just running in to say -
Well done to Dumpling - you go Glen Coco (hope you've seen 'mean girls') X
Good on you too LW - hope you don't suffer tonight X
GERS - hate residential training - the accommodation always seems to be from a 1970's Borstal style guide, exept once when they put us up in a very swanky hotel, as the 'Borstal' was full. Enjoy your books X
Sun, rain, hail, snow here..... Got next week off and supposed to be pants weather, hey ho, I shall channel my inner domestic goddess - the outer one looks more like BuddaNote to self - STOP SPENDING MONEY !!

Just discovered the fan in the bathroom runs for 20 minutes after the light is switched off and the loo has a macerator which churns away for a good five mins after each flush. Will be not using the light or flushing too often.:eek:0 -
Well done Dumpling on going to your meeting.Sure you will find some more like minded people and hopefully your diabetes will improve.
Lame wolf go girl ! I hope you are not in too much pain.
Town today for very random errands. Tourist information had sold out of tickets for Jeremy Hardy but had some for Mark Radcliffes latest band . We have an Arts Festival in May. Tickets for Fairport Convention were through my letter box.
In between hail and snow I've managed to get one load of washing dry on line. Other load is in Dribuddi.

Wow, some fantastic news on here. I've only been at work and Dumpling has overcome a massive hurdle, LW has been out on her own and Gers has moved into some sort of 1970s hostel!
Seriously though, well done girls.
The weather has been somewhat changeable today, sun, wind, hail and rain. The hail only lasted a few minutes and the washing was dry when I got home. I have the fire lit and hope to stay cosy and warm this evening.0 -
Hello everyone, I hope you have had a good day. As you can see I am really late posting but thought better late than never
Hester you really are having a stressful week.arent you. I do hope it's just as it says, a review. I am sure it will be x
Ancientofdays funerals can be very enjoyable because often it's a time for family to catch up and reminisce over old times and the person who has passed away. I am glad your uncles funeral went well x
dumpling I can totally sympathise with your nerves over joining SW. I am a life long fatty who still needs to lose the weight. My head just isn't in the right place at the moment. Good luck with it all.
Well done to you Lame wolf too.
Today I went around our local charity shops and managed to find DS a few good books. They were 99 p. When I paid the lady said it was actually 3 for 99 p so that was a real bargain. After I spent what I had saved in a lovely coffee shop. But it was a nice change from the housework.
Washing is in the tumble dryer and emmerdale is beckoning me. Hugs to everyone. Hope to be posting earlier tomorrow. Have a good evening everyone xx“Love yourself first and everything else falls into line. Your really have to love yourself to get anything done in this world.” Lucille Ball.0
