paint of walls that is easy clean

Hello!

Can anyone recommend paint for bedrooms and kitchens/toilets that is easy-clean.
We have 2 young children and need handprints and dirt to be able to be wiped off without taking paint with it!
Anyone have experience or recommendations?

Thanks!

  • Valspar premium matt, though eggshell might be better for kitchens.

Just seen an advert for dulux endurance + that says it wipes marks clean and not the paint. Anyone have any experience of this type of paint?

I found Dulux diamond matt to be a better product than endurance. It's cheaper to buy on-line rather than a decorators centre. Used it for the same reason as op needs. I used a cheaper 1st coat paint (same colour) then 2 coats of diamond, it does wipe clean.

I used Dulux Endurance in Hall and Stairs. I use a wet wipe on marks and paint looks as good as new afterwards.

In my experience Dulux Endurance isn't worth the money. I found it to be little better than the standard stuff. Silk finish is better than Matt for robustness, but not much use if you prefer matt! It's my intention to try a trade vinyl matt next in my pursuit of a durable matt finish.

I'd be wary of putting too much 'shiny' paint on the walls (apart from kitchen/bathroom). We painted our hall dulux silk below the dado rail (i.e. within reach of children, and where it might be knocked or marked) and standard emulsion above.

It lasted really well with a toddler and my bike coming through twice a day.

    That's a good point - hadn't thought of that!
Also, as amerste suggested, now had dulux endurance diamond matt recommended by someone else yesterday so thinking that will be the way to go!

Just to point out, it's not Dulux endurance it's Dulux diamond mat. The endurance is mainly for the householder DIY the diamond is preferred by the trade.

Another vote here for Dulux diamond matt. We picked it up at Dulux decorator centre and used it to pain the walls in my 2yr old's room. Coverage was excellent.
We have wiped all sorts of marks off the walls with no issues (dirty hand prints, crayon, spilt drinks etc)
