Hello, basically i've been working at a residential home for people with severe and multiple learning disabilities for coming on 6 months now and in all honesty it has been a baptism of fire. and i've struggled alot, ive also had many complaints made against me for conduct issues and most recently I have been suspended pending an investigation.
so much is happening right now that I wouldnt be at all surprised if im dismissed. this was my first job in social care and apart from the suspension I believe I have quite a solid CV
im involved with various social work organisations that provide help to the homeless, alcoholics, drug addicts, anyone who needs a listening ear. and night shelters etc. these things form the basis of my cv.
im wondering if I should include my job on my cv (remember, 6 months) or should I try and piece together a story of what ive been doing for 6 months.
Thanks for help, Ben

You need to be honest and include it, especially if you wish to remain in the care sector. Even if you are sacked that doesn't mean you will not be employed again.Lost my soulmate so life is empty.
I can bear pain myself, he said softly, but I couldna bear yours. That would take more strength than I have -

Honesty is the best policy.
Why have you been the target for many complaints in your current job??"You were only supposed to blow the bl**dy doors off!!"0 -

This worries me. Anyone can be unlucky enough to have a malicious allegation made against them in the field you work in, but "many" rings alarm bells.
Either you are not competent or you have been incredibly unlucky, either way I would be reconsidering my choice of career.0 -
Your post reads as if you haven't had an actual job other than one from which you are now suspended. If you are querying your Council Tax band would you please state whether you are in England, Scotland or Wales0

I would suggest that if you are dismissed that you are honest about the job, but do try to get and then present a realistic view of your performance. Many performance issues are due to a lack of training, poor supervision and lack of support, especially as you have moved into a new sector. It's important to recognise what was not your fault as well as what is.
Good luck, picking yourself up after knock to your confidence is difficult. I recommend trying to retain your job, you've not lost it yet - it's easier to keep a job that to get a new one.The comments I post are my personal opinion. While I try to check everything is correct before posting, I can and do make mistakes, so always try to check official information sources before relying on my posts.0 -
Other thing to bear in mind with regards to not including it on your CV is that it's a small world when it comes to bad information - particularly if you see a long term career in the care industry.Retired member - fed up with the general tone of the place.0

You may also be reported to the care commission.
Are you qualified to be in the post?Don’t be a can’t, be a can.0 -
1 complaint was for failing to use shower gel when washing a resident
1 complaint was due to alleged aggressive language towards a support worker which was not upheld
1 complaint was for not having a visual on a resident in the shower and using my phone.0 -

you are right that I wasn't afforded enough support, or the right kind of support. im not attributing all of my mistakes to that however, but how can I communicate the lack of support to a prospective employer without coming across as slandering my previous employer?0
