What annoys me more and more is this. The amount of times I've taken the GF out shopping, after 4/5 purchases my card is blocked and I'm having to call HSBC at the front of a shop queue to confirm I've made the previous 3/4 purchases. This happens every time, so how the hell can someone put 20 X £500 through online, in space of a couple of hours, with no auto block!?! It's crazy!
Thats ok, first, second, third, 29th... showing you were 35K up on even one transaction is good enough proof before they even get IP addresses from R32.
Make that part of your complaint against the bank aswell as overdraft refusal after refund, REFUND is paramount in first instance, the rest is complaint bull for laterGive them to much info and it will bamboozle many degree holders. Legal REFUND 1st, non legal bull later
SO... now England its the Scots turn to say dont leave the UK, stay in Europe with us in the UK, dont let the tories fool you like they did us with empty lies... You will be leaving the UK aswell as Europe0 -
Not saying it applies here but in-flight internet access is increasingly available on some airlines, so being in the air isn't necessarily a valid argument in itself anymore. However, it may be that the airline concerned in this case doesn't offer that facility, which would help endorse OP's case!0

In fact for online transactions your documents don't prove anything.I told them the dire situation this has left us in, and as usual for banks, they repeat the same old scripted rubbish. I'm told they will NOT refund any transaction unless it's proved I did not make it! I'm providing them with proof and they are dismissing it!
However, the onus lies on them to prove the opposite, i.e. that it was you.I told the person who called me earlier I was going to be writing to the ceo and papers and anyone else who would listen and they told me that's fine and it's my prerogative essentially. It's now been over a week and not a single penny back in my account. I spoke to consumer direct earlier who told me they couldn't help as I wasn't a consumer! I spoke to trading standards who told me to put it in writing! A friend of mine who works at a bank told me over 90% of fraud cases like this never end up in prosecution, the bank simply writes it off to avoid bad publicity. No wonder it continues! I contacted thisismoney and was emailed this morning asking for more information, I've responded but not heard back yet. What worries me is the people I know who have suffered debit card fraud have had their money returned in days and I'm now terrified that I'm not getting it back.I will keep this updated but I really don't n know where else to turn now,I even asked today how long this is all going to take and they told me they can't say. Apparently from online research a lot of gamblers will spend loads of money and if they don't win do a chargeback, which is also saying the banks are ignoring genuine fraud when it comes to online gambling.0 -

Indeed, but HSBC dont even seem to have asked R32 for IP address/es of the transactions or they would have told the OP the claim was denied as they were logged at his destinations whilst he was in both locations.
It should not be such a big issue given HSBC refund and claim from R32 bank.
The fraud team at HSBC seem rather lax, of course unless you are a uber rich customer where HSBC will help you commit fraud.SO... now England its the Scots turn to say dont leave the UK, stay in Europe with us in the UK, dont let the tories fool you like they did us with empty lies... Understandable that the bank wishes to investigate further then. As a remarkable coincidence with the timing of the transactions. In one way or another appears to be an "inside" job.0 -

If the OP has provided proof they were not in the UK and R32 provide IP addresses for the UK for the transactions. HSBC is not crossing borders here in investigations...Gibraltar is not Spain, its UK.
HSBC is dragging its heels and refusing a customer any line of small credit facility in the intern to feed the family. Poor show.SO... now England its the Scots turn to say dont leave the UK, stay in Europe with us in the UK, dont let the tories fool you like they did us with empty lies... This is why you should always have a credit card or at least one other account with money in it for emergencies.
Also wasnt the 32Red account that your brother used in your name?. I thought gambling sites wouldn't allow deposits into accounts from someone else's card.0
