As I recall, it was £50k OTE (ie opportunity to earn - ie don't earn, but get commissions and the best sales staff *might* get close)
A friend (age 25-30) recently came to London for an IT job from Eastern Europe - his English was so bad that he did not know what 'mother maiden name' means. He was however offered a permanent contract with a base salary of £50k + bonus for an entry-level role - I guess this goes to show the sheer skill shortage currently in IT for some semi-specialised roles.0
