    A friend (age 25-30) recently came to London for an IT job from Eastern Europe - his English was so bad that he did not know what 'mother maiden name' means. He was however offered a permanent contract with a base salary of £50k + bonus for an entry-level role - I guess this goes to show the sheer skill shortage currently in IT for some semi-specialised roles.
