So I have my M-I-L and DW in the car in an area they know and I do not. We come to a T junction and M-I-L says go left and DW says go right! HELP!

    Just carry out your orders, immediately, without compunction or morality.

    In the case of conflicting orders, carry out the most recent one. ;)
    I want to go back to The Olden Days, when every single thing that I can think of was better.....

    Mate, there's only one way to look at this, you have two options - and regardless of which one you choose now you will be wrong. You have been put in a no win situation.
