"I have health problems and need somewhere to relax without feeling any stress but the attitude of the way they reacted when i said i have a complaint was slightly over agresive.I first mentioned it to them within days of the handover and they said all caravan fires are like that they didnt even come to se it for themselves."

This is why I've asked you , it may be worth now doing some online research now to see if there are any other complaints about this site.

I had a relative who had a static caravan and the owners were a law unto themselves.

You need to respond to the site owners claim of having a safety check - reply to them, saying - thank you for getting the safety check done, I'm glad to hear my appliances have been checked for safety. However my issue is not that the fire is unsafe, but that it is not working satisfactorily to heat up the caravan as expected. Please note this is different to being unsafe, as per our sales agreement which included a 12 month warranty on major appliances, I would like this major appliance to be repaired to work to it's full capacity under the 12 month warranty supplied.

Yep, just be clear that all you want is a working gas fire, and that you love the van and the site etc., but are finding yourself getting colder than you'd like and it's affecting your enjoyment.

Sounds like the bottles and regulator are fine, so may just be the fire itself would benefit from a service or fix-up. I doubt the gas man will object to testing it and advising, he may even get to fit a replacement :)

Yep, worth just exercising a little natural caution with any gas bottles you've paid for. You probably pay a premium for them through the site, some people arrange their own discounts, as it were. For the sake of a couple of loops of chain, it's probably prudent.

    OP

Just make sure you check the gas fitters card and ensure he is covered to work on LPG appliances. A lot are not, also that he is covered to work on Fires too. Some only cover Boilers/cookers pipes etc. There is a certification for gas fires.

I would love a static caravan. Unfortunately i used to work for a company that provided services to caravan parks and that has put me off.

These people make used car salesmen look like saints.
