My laptop has a Windows Vista operating system.
As mentioned, no updates received for 12 days.
Should I worry?
Other than that my laptop appears to be working fine.
Thank you.

Maybe they didn't need to release any this month. According to this, mainstream support for Vista ended on 10th April 2012 but extended support is supposed to carry on until 11th April 2017. Perhaps Microsoft's calendar app isn't working.

If you'd said no updates for 10 days, then that wouldn't been such an issue, because Microsoft's monthly 'Patch Tuesday' would have been 12 April, and if you'd updated that day, you might not have had any more updates yet.
But if you've had nothing since 10th April, that's not so good as I'd imagine there would have been at least something for Vista on 12th April.0 -
Yes, Panic! 12 days is the magic number of certain PC/Laptop death!

Definition Update for Windows Defender
Installation date: 12/04/2016 10:06
Installation status: Successful
Update type: Important
So perhaps everything is working OK and I have nothing to worry about.
Thanks everybody for feedback.0 -
Last Vista update batch ([STRIKE]excluding [/STRIKE]ignoring Defender) here - 19th April. They come eventually. Windows 7 can also be very slow.If you put your general location in your Profile, somebody here may be able to come and help you.0

I assume Defender updates are for all platforms. I have had them for W7 12th, 15th, 19th & 22nd.0

no, the earlier versions of defender were only anti-spyware, the included-with-W8-onwards defender is an anti-virus, two different products with (unhelpfully) the same name......Gettin' There, Wherever There is......
I have a dodgy "i" key, so ignore spelling errors due to "i" issues, ...I blame Apple0 -
I turned on my computer about 7am, and have left it on. I've been checking for Windows updates since then.
So, after about six and a half hours I'm getting the "checking for updates" message,
I'm wondering if I should have got the "no updates available" message by now?0 -
It may be waiting for a reboot...If you put your general location in your Profile, somebody here may be able to come and help you.0
