Keep plodding on cheel, and sod the !!!!!!. Nothing wrong with what you did. Theirs none queer as folk unfortunately.
It difficult, I know, like many I too suffer with anxiety issues and not the best with gits like that. I've smiled like a Cheshire cat before with someone being a git and it was comical the effect it had on them. I've even said 'and I love you too' to someone being a got like that to their shock horror.
One day the !!!!!! will say something to the wrong person and end up with worse than what was dished out.
Even had the experience of a someone trying to take a bag of shopping of mine. I was sat on bus with family with my bag of shopping in the raised bay thing right in front of me, when a woman pressed the bell grabbed her bags, grabbing mine at the same time, yanking it towards her. Must have been a shock for her as it had 6 tins of cat food in and as soon as she'd moved it, I stood up and shouted 'oy, that's my bag you grabbed'. To which she let it go and pushed it back to me saying in a shock horror of someone caught out,'I'm sorry'.0 -
Last Christmas (I bet you're all thinking 'I gave you my heart'
)... Waitrose sent me some vouchers - I can't remember the figures but it was about £16 off if you spent £80 or something like that.
Well, I was like a rat up a drainpipe, got my coat and got on round. I walked around with a pad and pen and just kept a tally as I went and no-one batted an eyelid. There was no way I wasn't going to hit that spend as I wanted to use the voucher and would have been homicidal to have 'underspent' and then not be able to use my coupons.
So, just because you're using a calculator to track your spending doesn't make you look desperate; it just means you're sensible. Anyway, you could have been texting on your phone or checking your shopping list etc.
That bint just sounds bitter and angry with her lot in life... which is sad really as she wants to bring everyone down to her level. The standard response being 'oh dear, who p*****d on your chips' which was an expression used by a Brummie colleague after he was told not to ask females if It was their hormones.
P.S. Saw a fridge magnet which said: 'my weight loss target this year is 10 pounds... so far, only 15 pounds more to go' :rotfl::hello:0 -
Now tossing up as to whether an "I love you too..." comment or a different variant of "!!!!ing on chips" (maybe "Who rained on your parade?" I think...) would be an improvement on the smile/wink/blow a kiss tactic earlier advised:rotfl:
I like all 3 suggestions...0 -
I'm going for the "I love you too" :rotfl:0

I was the poster who suggested blowing a kiss, but I didn't mention that one of the other things I have done in the past is to bark at people.
I am a big, tall, lass who can do a mean Clint Eastwood squint and stare - you should see how fast they run when the big, mad lady starts barking0 -

Errrrmmm...I think I may just not be trying that one - being a little short woman and prime candidate for being described as a "little old lady" in 10 years time:rotfl:Ohmegawd - will sink through the ground the first time I'm described that way - but I guess there are worse things to be called....:cool:0 -
Thankyou everyone. Yes a mask it will be. Sometimes I wonder if people have a sixth sense to find those of us who are a bit wobbly in the confidence department!! Xx
no, they are just vile people.. I do not come across as a meek mannered little mouse.. I am a dragon and emit 'eff off' vibes and I still have to deal with nasty pieces like this.. I would have smiled knowingly at your adding up.. and suggesting the 'scan as you shop' thing.. its my latest toy!
Good for you going about your life in spite of the vile people in the world.. hopefully they will find something to make them happy eventuallyLB moment 10/06 Debt Free date 6/6/14Hope to be debt free until the day I dieMortgage-free Wannabee (05/08/30)6/6/14 £72,454.65 (5.65% int.)08/12/2023 £33602.00 (4.81% int.)0 -
Those 'eff off' vibes might attract folk like that pigpen. Someone who will give a reaction is most probably more fun than even a meek mannered mouse.
Polite, head held high with a quiet confidence is the way to go I reckon - an air of I can't be put down mixed with I'm better than getting agitated by silly little comments.0 -
