To be fair this is correct, people should declare everything. However in reality I doubt the HRMC actually want everybody doing that.0 -

£500 is not a few eggs and tomato plants. If it is then I'm off to buy a ton of chickens and tomato plants, I could make a fortune!
Swagbucks is rewards, although cash is really a grey area technically. I'd say it's still classed as a reward though as that's what the site says and it's not a job, therefore you don't need to declare it. Some people do declare it, most don't. Very different to this though!
All I can say is well done for backing up someone who has clearly lied, gone back on their story and whose maths for how much they've sold and profit made doesn't even remotely add up correctly! Makes you look really good :rotfl:
There's only one person who doesn't look good on this thread and it's not me or the OP! You clearly have an axe to grind for whatever reason. It's sad. Good luck to you in life with your very black & white thinking and feeling that you have the right to attack people on an internet forum. It's called trolling. I suspect you are very young with a lot to learn. You don't know anything about the OP and their situation, other than the small amount they have shared. It doesn't give you the right to accuse them of all sorts and start going off on one. I hope you see sense and stop posting, before you get removed by the mods.Minimalist

Thanks. Perhaps not, but it was a serious question and a serious answer should be given. Whether HMCR care, whether people declare it or what people think is beside the point. There's only one person who doesn't look good on this thread and it's not me or the OP! My first post was to the OP, to which I answered the question with the correct advice. It was based on what the law says. My opinion of the situation is beside the point, it's of no help to the OP.
My other posts were to someone else and, again, I just stated what the law says. No axe, no insults, no opinion. It was matter of fact.
This forum is here for people wanting advice. I gave advice. Just because your opinion differs to what the law states and you've decided to insult me because of it is your issue.
In what way have I attacked you!? You insulted me, remember.
Giving correct advice isn't trolling. Not sure why you think I'm very young (I'm not btw) based on knowing the law on what makes a business, bit odd. I don't care what you think about what the law says on this subject, it is what it is and that's all I posted.
The mods aren't going to remove my posts, why would they? I've said nothing wrong.
I haven't accused anyone of anything.
Are you reading the same thread as me? o.O0 -
Wow, I didn't expect so many replies, thank you :money:
I am self employed and put together a complete set of books each year, which any extra's will be added to, so HMRC is no issue

Good luck OP. A woman comes to our craft group every week and brings a couple of boxes of eggs. There must be thousands of people who do something similar.

I think it is a great idea. I love it when me and OH go for a drive and see a house selling eggs, veg or homemade jams etc. Just wish there were more people selling eggs close by as I hate buying them from supermarketsThe world is over 4 billion years old and yet you somehow managed to exist at the same time as David Bowie0
