MTC hope you are all better soon. I don't miss the days of teething... the things that worked with ds's was Ashtons powders with ds2 (wish I'd known about them with ds1!) and sucking a frozen banana.

I have just bought some more Ashtons powders and he is now sound asleep! x

Hi everyone

Thanks for starting us off Legomum. Hope your toothache eases. :( I need to go to the dentist too so I will think about you!

Big love everyone... Where is the Zigster? I haven’t seen her around for a few days...

So... I’m talking to mum last night and she mentions that dad has some money to give me. Queue me thinking about YNAB and what categories I can use it to fill (car insurance due in December, home insurance in September, wee overnight stay somewhere...). Queue mum ‘you can treat yourself, what are you going to buy?’ It’s funny because when I started working and got my first salary, dad told me I should try to save as much as I could because I was still living at home and had no outgoings... Mum then intervenes and tells him not to talk rubbish and that I should treat myself, I deserve it, I’m young and I’ve got no ties so I should spoil myself. O M G... Mum would be mortified if she found out this is where it all started (me spending my whole salary and then some more because I was young, with no ties and because I deserved to spoil myself!). I’m going to do an experiment this weekend and tell her I’m going to use it to pay for my car insurance in December and see her reaction. Any bets she will be there goading me on in the shops to spend it!!

Not much else going on – just the usual malarkey...

Hi I'm back

The List Continued

*
Bought travel insurance for this weekend for £3.54 through CompareThe Market which we don't need. This gives us 2-for-1 Meerkat Movies for 12 months, which we do desire, and we'd get our money's worth after only one cinema trip.

* Do own pedicure. Absolutely essential before the big run this weekend. Last time I ran with toenails like the Gruffalo I subsequently lost three of them!

* Print weekend booking details on the back of junkmail.

* Located viable places to eat cheaply on Saturday evening.

How about you guys?

Savvy Shopper! I've been Money Tipped!
HelleBelle I can just imagine that scenario and how funny/hideous it was. It is very hard when you are used to being able to whizz about having to sit with mess and disorder all around and have to accept it.
Much of what you say rings bells for me. When you are only 2 adults trying desperately to cover all the bases and deal with children it isn't easy. Hugs and sympathy.

Also to LegoMum anything to do with teeth is horrible. Poor thing. Make the change Your night sounded awful. Sending you strength to get through this difficult time.

Morning all :)
Thanks for the start CCL - hope your OH is ok - is it time to refer back to the MH team?
Legomum, hope the dentist sorts out your mouth problem, that sounds horrible :(
YL, bless your DS1 - I remember though, when I was about 15, my mum accepting a couple of pounds offered out of my holiday job wages towards something or other, and the huge sense of achievement that it gave me that I was contributing - I bet he would be made up if you did accept a small contribution. He sounds a lovely lad, anyway :)

Well, I didn't post yesterday (though I did read the thread) as I didn't really do anything except entertain baby GD :o So I really ought to make an effort today!

Used up half an apple left by GD with my breakfast porridge (not as horrid as it sounds as I had cut it in half and wrapped in cling film)
Dog walks x 2 for free exercise OH did both today, but he needs the exercise as well :p
Go to the market in the next town and buy some veg (we are going there anyway) Just bought potatoes, tomatoes and bread :)
Sort out some items to take to sales unit on the way back, to minimise fuel use Done
Move money to cover humungous bill OH had for his truck yesterday (almost as much as Foxgloves' recent garage bill, which was a shock as I had expected much less :( I am sure OH would have known exactly how much it would be but 'forgot' to tell me - we don't need this vehicle now  but he seems very resistant to the idea of getting rid of it. Done
HM meals from stores Done
Chop up and freeze some cooked beetroot that is lurking a bit too long in the fridge - can't afford to waste food AND pay nearly eight hundred quid garage bills  Done
Read meters and submit readings to energy provider's web site Done
Heating off Done
Cleaning - the whole house needs a proper cleanand turn out, so I am going to start with the dining room today :)Dining room done

Well, that lot should keep me busy! Hope everyone has as good a day as possible :)

The dishwasher seems to have gone kaputt part way through a programme -meaning it is full (or as full as they get) of water :( No power to it. Checked the earth trip thing and changed the fuse. Still doesn't work. Will have to clean it out tomorrow (can't face it tonight) and call someone out. If it is terminal, I may not replace it - could easily manage without.

MTC, hope your family are better soon. Take care xx

It has just taken us all day to plan our weekend away! :rotfl:I find this to be the biggest problem with the MSE lifestyle....

If one is impulsive one's money quickly disappears down the drain; if one plans all one's time is gone.

Hi everyone :hello:
Hope all of you needing dental treatment are doing ok. I know toothache is very unpleasant indeed. I had a lot of work done on my mouth when I was young and I'm terrified of the dentist...
I was wondering about Ziggy as well - hope she's doing ok.
Another long and non stop day almost over - just need to collect dd from cheerleading in a few minutes and then I'm done and can think about going to bed.
DH isn't home from work yet - but I have been starting to politely nag about the doctors again.

Plans for today:
[STRIKE] Check banking and PAD[/STRIKE]
[STRIKE] Use my free hour at work wisely to plan next week and continue to plough through this pile of test marking[/STRIKE] Didn't get much of a free hour - got turfed out of my classroom for a PE class
[STRIKE] Try not to get stressed[/STRIKE]
[STRIKE] Definitely no heating[/STRIKE]
[STRIKE] Minimal housework (dh will definitely not do anything today)[/STRIKE] Hoover, washing, washing up
[STRIKE] get dd to cheerleading[/STRIKE]
[STRIKE] don't make any big decisions when I'm this tired[/STRIKE]
[STRIKE] 7000 steps for my Bounts[/STRIKE]
 aim for a very early night Still planned
• Thanks all. DD curled up on the sofa, had a nap and woke a different person. Must have been some bug we have had looming yesterday and today. Thankfully I have avoided it, so far! Another grumpy day for DS2 but he had a nice warm bath and settled reasonably well for bed. Fingers crossed for a better night. Hope everyone else who is in pain or feeling down has a good sleep and wakes to a better day tomorrow xx
